Performers from across New York City will come together for Songs of Persistence: An Elizabeth Warren Musical Fundraiser on Monday, January 13th at The West End Lounge. Through songs about dreaming big, fighting hard, and persisting, they will be celebrating democracy and the importance of getting off the sidelines to fight for what you believe in. After a sold out show in 2017 Johnny and the Devil's Box is coming back to Rockwood! The concert will highlight selections from the new folk musical JOHNNY AND THE DEVIL'S BOX with performances by; George Abud (The Band's Visit), Julie Foldesi (Sunday in the Park with George, Newsies, South Pacific), Don Sparks (Margaritaville), Rema Webb (The Color Purple, Margaritaville), Annabelle Fox, Andrea Laxton, Alex Grubbs, Meghan Glogower, Scott Wasserman and Douglas Waterbury-Tieman. The band features members of The Playbillies Mike Rosengarten (Be More Chill) and Matt Cusack (Bandstand) with guest Billy Cohen.

Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Chris Rayis in "Chris Rayis: Ex Nihilo" on January 2nd at 7 pm. This show marks the debut of Chris Rayis' work in the New York theatre scene. 

Sometimes it seems there is so much theater happening that it's difficult to keep track of it all. From personal experience, despite all the datebooks, smart phones, tablets, desktop computers and laptops...it's hard to keep everything straight in this wacky business of the show.

It's been an exciting week for actress Meghan Glogower, a graduate of the musical theatre program at Nashville's Belmont University: On Monday night, she joined with her friends and cohorts from the original cast The Nutty Professor - the musical written by Marvin Hamlisch and Rupert Holmes, which premiered in Nashville in 2012 - for its New York City premiere in concert at Birdland. The musical's NYC debut, which has been a long time coming, reconvened the cast and Holmes to pay tribute to Hamlisch's final score for the theater while rekindling dreams and aspirations.

Tonight at Birdland - for the first time since it debuted in Nashville in 2012 - a New York audience will finally have the opportunity to hear Marvin Hamlisch's final theatrical score for Nutty Professor, the musical based on the iconic Jerry Lewis film.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. On February 15 (7PM), The Broadway at Birdland concert series will present the award-winning cast of the 2012 world premiere production of Nutty Professor, the musical written by Rupert Holmes and the late, great Marvin Hamlisch. Julius Kelp, the social-misfit egghead college Professor, becomes committed to changing himself for the better after meeting progressive and idealistic transfer student Stella Purdy. He concocts a potion that transforms him into crooner, the suave and slick Buddy Love. His radical solution for a personal upgrade works, but not as he predicted. Nutty Professor has a book and lyrics by Tony winner Rupert Holmes and music by the late Tony winner Marvin Hamlisch, who died unexpectedly during the world premiere Nashville run.

George and Ira Gershwin's 'Oh, Kay' opens tonight, October 13 at the Lion Theatre at Theatre Row in NYC. Nicolas Dromard (Jersey Boys) plays charming playboy Jimmy Winter, who on the eve of his wedding rediscovers a woman he met in a chance encounter at sea, the enchanting and elegant Lady Kay, played by Elizabeth Broadhurst (Mary Poppins). The production also features Nic Thompson (Mary Poppins) as Bootlegger/ Song and Dance man, Larry Potter.  Check out a first look below!
