McCarter Announces Roster For 2019 Sallie B. Goodman Artists' Retreat

McCarter will welcome a group of esteemed and emerging playwrights and theater artists to Princeton for the Sallie B. Goodman Artists' Retreat. The annual retreat in June is a centerpiece of McCarter's LAB, a platform and creative incubator devoted to ongoing theatrical development and artist cultivation. The 2019 Retreat will take place from June 12 - June 19.

A Red Orchid Theatre Announces New Members To Its Artistic Ensemble

A Red Orchid Theatre announces the addition of eight new members to the Artistic Ensemble: Karen Aldridge, Myron Elliott-Cisneros, Levi Holloway, Travis A. Knight, Jess McLeod, Sadieh Rifai, Grant Sabin, and Steve Schine. A Red Orchid also welcomes two Resident Stage Managers Stephanie Heller and Christa van Baale.

15th Princeton Festival Opens June 7

The 15th Anniversary season of the Princeton Festival (www.princetonfestival.org) arrives on June 7 with over three weeks of performing arts, featuring nine different events in 22 performances at various venues in the Princeton area, plus an extensive schedule of free lectures and community happenings.

Phylicia Rashad to Direct BLUE on Broadway Spring 2020

Blue by Charles Randolph-Wright with music by Nona Hendryx, will receive its Broadway premiere spring of 2020 at a theater to be announced, under the direction of Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad who starred in both the play's 2000 world premiere at Arena Stage and 2001 New York premiere at Roundabout Theatre Company.

New Productions And Further Casting Announced For Theatre Royal Bath's Summer Season 2019

Theatre Royal Bath today announces four additional productions - Vienna 1934-Munich 1938, The Life I Lead, Trying It On and The Man in the White Suit, to complete its Summer Season 2019 programme and further casting with Katherine Parkinson, Janie Dee as well as Vanessa Redgrave, Miles Jupp and David Edgar among the stars set to take to the stage in both treasured classics and acclaimed new works.

Lookingglass Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, written and directed by Ensemble Member David Catlin, from the book by Mary Shelley. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein runs May 8 August 4, 2019 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. Tickets are now on sale. The press performance is Saturday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Teens Can Now Register For Chance Theater SPEAK UP Summer Program Through June 3rd

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is proud to announce the return of its summer youth program, Teens Speak Up. Now in its 16th summer, Teens Speak Up gives local junior high and high school students the opportunity to connect with their peers and Chance Artists as they write, design, and perform their own original play. Through this process, students will also grow concentration and awareness, emotional freedom and connection, and self-confidence. Chance Theater Resident Artists Darryl B. Hovis and Education Director, Karen O'Hanlon will guide students through the six-week program, which begins on June 17, 2019 and culminate in four public performances on July 27 and 28 at 11:00am and 7:00pm.

HEARTLAND Extends Through May 5

Heartland, now playing at Luna Stage, will extend through May 5. The new play, which opened April 4, has received audience and critical acclaim. Broadway World called it a "heartfelt masterpiece rife with comedic brilliance and the triumph of the human spirit."

Hudson Theatre Works Presents A Reading Of THE NECROMANCERS: A PENNY DREADFUL WITH MUSIC

Bram Stoker, author of Dracula, and Sir Henry Irving, famed British stage actor an inspiration for Stoker's title character, held a friendship that spanned more then twenty years.  Irving was the leading actor at the Royal Lyceum Theater in London and Stoker the business manager.  Their friendship was fraught with egos, jealousies and fierce competitive natures.  The Necromancers weaves fact and fantasy together to present the last days of Irving's life.
