Capathia Jenkins And Louis Rosen Release New CD And Announce Three-Night Concert Series At NYC's Birland Theatre

To celebrate the October 26th, 2018, release of their brand-new Di-Tone Records project Phenomenal Woman: The Maya Angelou Songs, the critically acclaimed duo of vocalist Capathia Jenkins and award-winning composer, arranger and musician Louis Rosen will perform for three nights, Thursday through Saturday, October 25, 26, and 27, 2018, at the iconic jazz venue Birdland's new Birdland Theatre in New York City. The Birdland Theatre is located at 315 West 44th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues.

Artist Brings New Harlem Insights In Interactive Multimedia Art Installation

Thomas Allen Harris is celebrating Harlem in his latest art exhibition titled Mother, Bethel, Harlem, USA, a collaboration with students from the Hunter College IMA MFA program to build an interactive exhibition at the Hunter East Harlem Gallery (HEHG), opening Thursday, August 30. Through an investigation of Harris's extensive body of work as a photographer, filmmaker, and creator of the interdisciplinary project Digital Diaspora Family Reunion (DDFR), the students have conceived works that are inspired by the family photo album, practices of archiving, and the local community in Harlem and East Harlem.

Pasadena POPS Season Finale Brings Two Tony Winners For The Best Of Hit Shows That Traveled From Broadway To Hollywood

Michael Feinstein and the Pasadena POPS close out their popular outdoor summer concert series at the Los Angeles County Arboretum on Saturday, September 8 with Broadway Goes to the Movies. The POPS season finale will provide a quintessential Feinstein experience with some of Broadway's greatest performers recreating songs from hit shows that traveled from 42nd St. to Hollywood. "This program is going to celebrate all the different musical aspects of Broadway and Hollywood," says Feinstein, who has put together a program spanning the Broadway canon from My Fair Lady to The Sound of Music to Jersey Boys. Highlights include "The Impossible Dream," "Can't Take My Eyes off of You," and "There's No Business Like Show Business," among many other beloved showtunes.

SFGMC's Dr. Tim Seelig Guest Conducts the Mormon Tabernacle Choir

Last night in front of approximately 2,400 concertgoers, Dr. Tim Seelig, Artistic Director of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC), served as guest conductor at the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square concert at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. Seelig stepped onto the conductor's podium to lead the Choir and Orchestra in the encore number, "This Land Is Your Land." The Choir traditionally invites a guest conductor who is well known to the community-from musicians and government officials to religious leaders and celebrities-at each of its concert stops.

Miami City Ballet Appoints Tania Castroverde Moskalenko as its New Executive Director

Miami City Ballet today announced the appointment of Tania Castroverde Moskalenko as the ballet company's new Executive Director. The appointment was made after an extensive, six-month international search. Castroverde Moskalenko, who returns to the city where she immigrated with her family 30 years ago as a political refugee from Cuba, will assume the leadership role alongside City Ballet Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez on August 7, 2018. As Executive Director, she will lead the company's institutional strategy, fundraising, and operations, building upon City Ballet's achievements as it advances its vision for the future.

TheatreSouth is proud to bring the compelling legal drama, A Class Act, to the Pompano Beach Cultural Center. Written by Norman Shabel, this play focuses on a trio of lawyers who accuse General Chemical Corporation of polluting water across the country through cancer-causing factory runoff. These attorneys are hoping for a big payoff from the deep pockets of the corporation, while the 'suits' at the latter plan to use blackmail as leverage to pay as little as possible.
