Review: BEETLEJUICE at Broadway Dallas

Join your friendly neighborhood demon, Beetlejuice, for a few hours of hilarity and horror. Broadway’s BEETLEJUICE is at Music Hall at Fair Park February 20-March 3.

Review: MOULIN ROUGE! at Dr. Phillips Center Is Silly But Sumptuous

I can’t recall seeing a single show on the national touring circuit with costumes, lighting, and scenic design as sumptuous as those in Moulin Rouge!. Yes, the show is scaled down from its eye-popping, Tony-winning 2019 Broadway production (still running in New York), but as touring productions go, this one’s exceptionally pleasing to the eye...

Jordan Fisher, Ani DiFranco, and the cast of Hadestown will be performing on Tamron Hall this Friday. DiFranco recently joined the Broadway cast of Hadestown as Persephone, alongside Lola Tung as Eurydice, earlier this month. Fisher joined as Orpheus later last year.

Review: ALEX EDELMAN'S JUST FOR US at Steppenwolf Theatre

Alex Edelman's newest solo show JUST FOR US is a riotously hilarious and surprisingly heartfelt meditation on internet culture, Jewish identity, and the limits of radical empathy. It runs through February 25 at Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theater. Critic's recommendation: get your tickets immediately.

SPAMALOT Will Perform on THE VIEW Next Week

Spamalot is performing on The View next week. The performance will mark the production's third televised appearance, following performances of 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life' and 'Knights of the Round Table' on NBC. They performed a medley of the two songs on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Review: Gender-Swapped COMPANY Falls Flat at the Ohio Theatre Despite Genius Sondheim Score

Nominated for a record-setting 14 Tony Awards and winning 6 in the original production in 1970, Stephen Sondheim’s COMPANY was one of the first musicals to deal with contemporary dating, marriage, and divorce.  Originally played by a male lead, Director Marianne Elliott (with approval from Sondheim) decided to swap genders in the second West End revival in 2018, and Bobby then became Bobbie.

Review: MOULIN ROUGE! THE MUSICAL at Straz Center

Throughout the entire production, the energy remains electric, fueled by exceptional lead performers and a truly astonishing ensemble. The choreography, costumes, and sets weave together seamlessly, creating an irresistible tapestry of entertainment that demands the audience's undivided attention.

Review: COMPANY at Des Moines Performing Arts

When Des Moines Performing Arts announces its new season, there is always a show or two I can't help but get excited about. This year, one of those shows for me was 'Company,' which is now playing through February 11.

Review: Disney's THE LION KING Rules Once More at OC's Segerstrom Center

Now in its 27th year, Disney's game-changing, Tony Award-winning global megahit THE LION KING has once again taken over OC's Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa for another month of performances that continues through February 25, 2024. Even today, the show still manages to elicit genuine wonder and awe for kids and adults alike.

Review: MJ THE MUSICAL at Orpheum Theatre

Fifteen years after MJ’s sudden death and his legacy continues strong with MJ The Musical, winner of four Tony’s. A sure-fire crowd pleaser, this jukebox musical includes Jackson’s biggest hits stunningly directed and choreographed by Tony winner Christopher Wheeldon.
