The Public Theater and National Black Theatre announced complete casting today for the upcoming New York Premiere of FAT HAM written by James Ijames and directed by Public Theater Associate Artistic Director and Resident Director Saheem Ali.

LA Opera will present the world premiere of In Our Daughter's Eyes, by composer Du Yun and librettist Michael Joseph McQuilken, from April 13 through 17, 2022, at REDCAT. The monodrama was created for and with baritone Nathan Gunn, who portrays a father-to-be striving to become a man his daughter would be proud of.

New Jersey City University Music, Dance and Theatre Department, in collaboration with Joffrey Ballet School presents Pippin. The curtain goes up for two weekends of performances, beginning Friday, March 25 at NJCU's Margaret Williams Theater, located on campus in Hepburn Hall, 2039 Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City, N.J.

Theater Latte Da announces the cast for award-winning playwright Harrison David Rivers' (Five Points) latest play, To Let Go and Fall. This newest play-with-music by Rivers marks his eighth produced work. New York-based director Sherri Eden Barber helms the production in the Twin Cities with original music composed by Minneapolis-based Jelloslave cellists Jacqueline Ultan and Michelle Kinney. Where are our Violettas, our Salomes, our Elektras--even our Lulus--for opera to move forward as an art form for the 21 century? They're all victims of stress and suffering of one sort or another, but still worth meeting up with--not only musically but dramatically--more than once. I began thinking about this while watching the three music-theatre/new opera pieces that I visited during the opening days of the current edition of PROTOTYPE:OPERA/THEATRE/NOW--The Infinite Hotel, 4.48 Psychosis and PRISM.
