Review: CONTEH, Liverpool's Royal Court

Written by Aron Julius and directed by Mark Womack, Conteh is a powerful and emotive drama about the life of one of Liverpool’s sporting icons. Julius stars as boxer John Conteh, who at 24 years old became the light heavyweight champion of the world. Julius’ script tells Conteh’s story, both in and outside the boxing ring, in a brilliantly written script that is delivered by a phenomenal cast.

Review: MY FAIR LADY, The Mill At Sonning

For their Christmas show this year, The Mill at Sonning is putting on My Fair Lady, the 1956 Broadway musical written by Alan Jay Lerner (Lyrics and Book) and Frederick Loewe (Music). For those unfamiliar with the venue, it is an intimate, 217-seat theatre in the semi-round that operates as a dinner theatre, where audiences have a lovely two-course meal before the performance begins.

This week, the stage production of Helen Forrester's By The Waters Of Liverpool was ground to a halt after just three venues into a seventeen venue UK tour. This was due to the Prime Minister's statement on Monday, advising UK public to avoid unnecessary social contact, including theatres which forced immediate closure of most theatres across the country.

Author Helen Forrester To Be Honoured With Blue Plaque At Her Childhood Wirral Home

Helen Forrester, the author who spawned a genre of gritty, working-class memoir with her book, Twopence To Cross The Mersey, is to be honoured with a blue plaque as part of her 100th birthday celebrations. The unveiling will take place on Friday 21st February at her childhood home in Hoylake on the Wirral Peninsula.

Sian Reeves has kept Coronation Street viewers on the edge of their seats since rolling up as Charlie Wood, the deluded wife Tim Metcalfe didn't know he had. But viewers will have to wait to see how it all pans out for Tim, Sally and Charlie as she takes a break from the cobbles of Weatherfield to star in the brand new stage play adaptation of Helen Forrester's, By The Waters Of Liverpool which is coming to Darlington Hippodrome Theatre on 9 April for a short run.
