Full casting has been announced for Mark Gatiss' brand-new adaptation of Dickens' A Christmas Carol directed by Adam Penford.

Today, Nottingham Playhouse continues its first full season since the start of the pandemic with three announcements - the award of Theatre of Sanctuary Status, the extension of its digital programme and an addition to its ongoing production work. 

Producer Eleanor Lloyd and Nottingham Playhouse have today announced that Nicholas Farrell will join the cast for Mark Gatiss' brand-new adaptation of Dickens' A Christmas Carol directed by Adam Penford.

A new entertainment company, Second Half Productions, has been launched today by Jeremy Herrin, Alan Stacey and Rob O'Rahilly. It will bring together world-leading artists to create innovative work for both stage and screen.

Inspired by the storytelling traditions of the West African griot, Sold tells the forgotten true story of Mary Prince, a woman born into the slavery in the British colony of Bermuda who went on to become an auto-biographer and champion of freedom.

Conceived by multi award- winning writer Archie Maddocks and directed by Talawa's Artistic Director, Michael Buffong, this bittersweet comedy-drama rejoices in the familiar comforts of London's diverse communities, whilst confronting how the rapid pace of change can erode deeply held traditions.

Each two-hour session can be attended in-person or online, and are for those that identify as working class, LGBTQI+, those who are deaf or disabled and those of a Culturally Diverse Heritage. 

Coventry’s Criterion Theatre will open the Festival on the Sunday July 18, with a performance of “Queers - The Monologues”, by various writers but curated by Mark Gatiss, co-creator of the popular “Sherlock” tv series and who starred in it as elder brother Mycroft Holmes.

The Old Vic today announced the two new specially commissioned monologues for Queers, curated by Mark Gatiss, to mark Pride Month. I Threw It, written by Travis Alabanza and performed by Kim Tatum AKA Mzz Kimberley, and Bee, by Jade Anouka and performed by Pearl Mackie, will be directed by Sean Linnen.
