The Gaiety Musical Theatre Festival has announced the full main stage line up for this year's festival at Ragley Hall, Warwickshire.

Kicking off the month on January 1st is the 1945 musical comedy film Ziegfeld Follies, featuring Fred Astaire, Lucille Ball, Gene Kelly, Judy Garland, Fanny Brice, Lena Horne and more. The How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying film, based on the musical of the same name, is set to debut on January 4th.

West End and Broadway favourite Marisha Wallace will join fellow headliners Kerry Ellis (We Will Rock You, Wicked, Oliver!), Lee Mead (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Wicked, Legally Blonde the Musical) and Cassidy Janson (&Juliet, Beautiful: The Carol King Musical, Avenue Q) at Gaiety Musical Theatre Festival on Sunday 1st May 2022.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that the new musical Borderline will get an industry reading later this week under the direction of Sarna Lapine, musical supervision of David Gardos, and choreography of Joann M. Hunter. The project features a book by Aryanna Garber and music/lyrics by Benjamin Velez.

The Black British Theatre Awards (BBTAs), the UK's first award show to celebrate the excellence and influence of Black performers and creatives in the theatre industry, have announced the 2021 nominees.

The Foundation for New American Musicals presents the 2021 FNAM All-star Benefit and Fundraiser. The evening will honor Tony/Grammy/Emmy Award-winner Marc Shaiman (Hairspray and Mary Poppins Returns), who will receive FNAM's first Inspire Award; and FNAM Founding-member Robert Klein, who will receive the first Founders' Award.

The Foundation for New American Musicals (FNAM) will honor Marc Shaiman with their inaugural Inspire Award at their FNAM ALL-STAR BENEFIT AND FUNDRAISER October 24th at a private Pacific Palisades residence. Scheduled to appear that night: Megan Hilty, Matthew Morrison, Bruce Vilanch, Marisha Wallace and Marissa Jaret Winokur. Marc took a brief moment from his many obligations to answer my queries with his snappy quips.

This comes after the show was forced to close on July 4 after a cast member tested positive for COVID-19. The closure period extended on July 12 due to “a small number of isolated positive cases of Covid-19 within the company.'
