Tipperary's version of the Circus is Coming to Town.  Clonmel Junction Arts Festival arrives in Clonmel from July 1st to 10th.  The Junction Dome, a temporary performance structure for theatre, literature, and more, comes alive.  It takes over empty retail spaces; and sparks conversations on how to creatively enhance a regional town through the arts.

With Girl on an Altar by Marina Carr running and Zodwa Nyoni’s The Darkest Part of the Night in rehearsals, Kiln Theatre Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham today announced the return of Zadie Smith’s The Wife of Willesden to the venue, running from 14 December to 28 January.

The main hub will be the Junction Festival Dome. This wonderful structure will be at Kickham Barracks, familiar to regional audiences from Clonmel’s In The Open Faoin Spéir projects, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Waterford Spraoi’s PRISM.

The Greeks seem to be trending at the moment. Last year TikTok went mad for Madeline Miller’s book Song of Achilles, Ivo van Hove brought his mash-up of myths to the Barbican at the start of the month, and the Almeida’s latest project is being compared to a Greek masterpiece. London seems to be in a blood-thirsty mood these days and now the Kiln joins in.

Annabelle Comyn directs Nina Bowers (Cassandra), Daon Broni (Aegisthus), Jim Findley (Tyndareus), Kate Stanley Brennan (Cilissa), David Walmsley (Agamemnon) and Eileen Walsh (Clytemnestra).

With Marina Carr's Girl on an Altar about to begin previews, Kiln Theatre announces the full cast for the world première of Zodwa Nyoni's The Darkest Part of the Night. Nancy Medina directs Brianna Douglas, Andrew French, James Clyde, Hannah Morrish, Lee Phillips and Nadia Williams.

With Marina Carr’s Girl on an Altar opening later this month, Artistic Director of Kiln Theatre Indhu Rubasingham today announces a major revival of Moira Buffini’s critically acclaimed Handbagged. Reprising their roles are Marion Bailey as ‘Q’, an Older Queen Elizabeth II and Kate Fahy as ‘T’, an Older Margaret Thatcher, with further cast to be announced shortly.

With Chinonyerem Odimba and Ben and Max Ringham's Black Love currently running at the theatre, Kiln Theatre, in a brand-new partnership with the Abbey Theatre, today announces the full cast for Marina Carr's Girl on an Altar. Following their productions of 44 Plays for 44 Presidents, (2012) and the remounted and updated 45 Plays for 45 Presidents (2016), Pro Rata of course said yes when the playwrights asked TPR directly to be a part of a rolling premiere of their new play: a ‘hot off the press’ and unpublished 46 Plays for America’s First Ladies.

Audiences will have another chance to watch this critically acclaimed major adaption from Marina Carr and directed for the stage by Annabelle Comyn as it returns for a limited on-demand video stream this spring.

 Irish Repertory Theatre announced today three Performance on Screen digital productions for their Summer 2021 season. Ghosting, by Anne O’Riordan and Jamie Beamish and directed for streaming by Jamie Beamish, will premiere on Tuesday June 22, 2021. The production, starring Anne O’Riordan, will run through Sunday July 4, 2021.
