Julien's Auctions' blockbuster three-day music auction event MUSIC ICONS held on Friday, May 20th, Saturday, May 21st, and Sunday, May 22nd 2022 culminated today in the highly anticipated sale of the mythic electric guitar that changed music and the world: Kurt Cobain's 1969 Fender Mustang electric guitar played in Nirvana's breakthrough hit and landmark 1991 music video, 'Smells Like Teen Spirit.'

The Darkhorse Theatre is set to stage tandem productions of That Woman- The Monologue Show and That Woman- The Dance Show. Ticket for all shows are now on sale at tnplaywrights.org. The Monologue Show will take place for one night only, while the Dance Show will perform on multiple days. Find more information about the shows and performance schedules below. 

Diva, the latest offering from LSPR Teatro, premiered on December 10, 2021 at Cinépolis Plaza Semanggi. It was a momentous production for the theater club, being both their first original musical and their first cinematic show. Though not without obvious shortcomings, the tragic showbiz cautionary tale was nevertheless both enjoyable and impressive.

The classic comedy Some Like It Hot will begin performances on Broadway this fall! It was announced today that the new musical will begin performances on Tuesday, November 1 and officially open Sunday, December 11 at  the Shubert Theatre (225 West 44th Street).  Find out who's in the cast and on the creative team!

Delaware Theatre Company announces The Nanny star Renée Taylor coming to DTC in My Life On A Diet. This uproarious and touching one-woman show, written by Renée Taylor and Joseph Bologna, and originally directed by Joseph Bologna, runs April 6–17, 2021.

Recently concluding performances at Theater for the New City, The UnAmerican questions the power that is supposedly given to those who believe they are above the consensus of the many. Directed by Joe John Battista, Solnik’s play follows the troubled triad of relationships between Marilyn Monroe, Elia Kazan and Arthur Miller - three legendary figures who are criticized and tried for their Communist affiliation

This week I saw productions of two decades-old musicals, each written by one of theatre's great composer/lyricists, which, in their original productions, ran a combined total of nine performances on Broadway.

Broadway Records announced today the release of 16 Stories, a collection of 16 previously unrecorded songs written by award-winning musical theatre creators from around the world and recorded by The Australian Discovery Orchestra.

Summer: The Donna Summer Musical makes its Detroit premiere at the Fisher Theatre, March 8th-20th. “Summer is uplifting, emotional, thrilling, entertaining, and soulful,” Detroit Native Francisco Risso responded. Palm Canyon Theatre's (PCT's) PALM SPRINGS GETAWAY is the world premiere of a handclapping, foot-stomping revue that describes the history of Palm Springs, California in a funny, mostly wholesome way. I enjoyed myself immensely at this high-quality getaway from events in the world. Judging from other audience members, so did they.

The little told story of Miller, Marilyn and Elia Kazan, the noted director who had been Miller's friend and Marilyn's lover, is the subject matter for The Unamerican, a new play written by Claude Solnik and directed by Joseph John Battista.
