El Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (Inbal), institución de la Secretaría de Cultura del Gobierno de México, designó a la reconocida soprano mexicana María Katzarava como directora del Estudio de Ópera de Bellas Artes (EOBA) con el fin de fortalecer la proyección de quienes integran dicho estudio y estrechar sus vínculos con la Compañía Nacional de Ópera (CNO), así como con otros espacios importantes para el canto lírico, además de diversificar repertorios y espacios de proyección nacional e internacional.

Greek and Roman mythology, passion plays and Shakespearean tales are often updated or transformed from play to musical to opera or even ballet. Most recently the Broadway stage has found a new re-telling of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth in the form of the TONY Award winning HADESTOWN and the tour is playing at Shea's Buffalo through this Sunday.
