Broadway's Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Dear Evan Hansen, is currently in its third record-smashing year at the Music Box Theatre. Following the success of the Broadway production, a national tour launched soon after, bringing the story across North America. A sit-down production made its way to Toronto earlier this year, and will be followed by a West End production set to debut in October 2019 at the Noel Coward Theatre.

This year's Stars in the Alley concert was held on May 10. Hosted by Alex Brightman, the celebration included performances and appearances by 2019 Tony Award-nominated performers including: Caitlin Kinnunen (The Prom), Sarah Stiles (Tootsie), as well as performances from 2019 Tony Award-nominated musicals including: Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations; Beetlejuice; Hadestown; Kiss Me, Kate; Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma!; The Prom; and Tootsie.

As BroadwayWorld reported last summer, Alchemation and Kevin McCollum plan to bring a musical version of MRS. DOUBTFIRE to Broadway! Four-time Tony Award Winner Jerry Zaks will direct, joined by Tony Award Nominees John O'Farrell and Karey Kirkpatrick (book) and Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick (music and lyrics).

STARS IN THE ALLEY, presented by United Airlines, has announced the performers for the concert that will take place on Friday, May 10th at 1pm in Shubert Alley, between Broadway and 8th Avenue and 44th and 45th Streets.

Tony winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, The Cher Show, My Fair Lady, SpongeBob) will direct an invite-only, developmental reading of the new musical, The Song of Bernadette, March 14th & 15th, starring Dear Evan Hansen's Mallory Bechtel as Bernadette, alongside Tony Winner Alice Ripley (Next to Normal, Side Show, American Psycho), Derek Klena (Carrie, Dogfight, Anastasia) and Drew Gehling (Waitress, Dave).

On Monday night, sixteen Broadway stars were featured in Broadway Sings Adele, the latest concert in the Broadway Sings series. The tribute concerts take the music of well-known music icons and create new, unique arrangements and orchestrations by twisting the style to fit the strength of the performer. Previous concerts have included Beyonce, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, and Rihanna. This summer, the Sony Hall series will continue with Broadway Sings Ariana Grande.

A new Evan is waving through a window at the Music Box Theatre! As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Andrew Barth Feldman, the 16-year-old winner of the Best Actor Award at the 2018 National High School Musical Theatre Awards (known more commonly as the Jimmy Awards), made his Broadway debut as 'Evan Hansen' just over a month ago. Current cast members from Broadway shows including Come From Away, King Kong, and The Book of Mormon will sing completely new arrangements of the hits of the award winning singer, accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra playing original orchestrations of her music.

With a median age of about 20, they showed us just why they have scored some of the most coveted tracks on Broadway.
