Brown Boys Swim is the winner of the Popcorn Writing Award 2022.  Written by Karim Khan (a recipient of Riz Ahmed’s Left Handed Films and Pillars Fund inaugural fellowship and an alumnus of the The North Wall’s ArtsLab programme), this lyrical coming-of-age tale looks at the pressures that surround young Muslim men today. 

Popcorn Group have announced this year’s incredible judging committee along with their longlist of brave and imaginative new plays for the Popcorn Writing Award. Partnering for the first time with BBC Writersroom, Popcorn offers a prize fund of £6,000. 

NewFest, New York’s leading LGBTQ+ film and media organization and one of the world's most respected LGBTQ+ film festivals, has announced the full lineup for its second annual NewFest Pride event - a summer film series returning this year from June 2-6 in a hybrid format featuring a mix of exclusive in-person premieres/panels and virtual screenings. The announcement was made today by NewFest’s Executive Director David Hatkoff and Director of Programming Nick McCarthy.

Sundance Now is set to release the first season of the upcoming original comedy series Ten Percent. The show's two-episode premiere is set for Friday, April 29 on Sundance Now and AMC+. An encore airing of the first episode will debut linearly on BBC AMERICA Sunday, May 1 with one episode weekly thereafter. 

The English adaptation of Call My Agent! will keep the sensibilities and premise of the French series, in which the staff of a Parisian talent agency must hustle to keep clients happy after the abrupt death of their founder — all while juggling their own personal and love lives.

Charlotte Jones's new play for nearly a decade, The Meeting, is an emotional twister that evokes concerns about female empowerment, treatment of those who are different, and the limitations of religious teachings.

Further casting is announced today for Festival 2018 at Chichester Festival Theatre. Clive Rowe joins Matt Lucas, Caroline Quentin and Alex Young to lead the cast of the musical ME AND MY GIRL, which Daniel Evans directs at the Festival Theatre from 2 July - 25 August. Clive will play Sir John Tremayne, returning to Chichester following his appearance in Kiss Me Kate in 2012 which later transferred to The Old Vic.

We need more waffles in diplomacy. Or rather more personal connections to bridge those vast divides. So believed the Norwegian couple who orchestrated secret peace talks in 1993 between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization - a slice of stranger-than-fiction history grippingly dramatised in JT Rogers' play, which deservedly picked up this year's Tony Award.

The Lincoln Center Theater's critically acclaimed production of OSLO, is now previewing at the National Theatre with press performances on 15, 16, 18 September). The production then transfers to the Harold Pinter Theatre in London's West End (2 October - 30 December 2017). The Lincoln Center Theater's critically acclaimed production of OSLO, begins performances at the National Theatre on 5 September (press nights 15, 16, 18 September) and later transfers to the Harold Pinter Theatre in London's West End (2 October - 30 December 2017). 

OSLO, which last night won Best Play at the Tony Awards, has its UK premiere later this year at the National Theatre and then transfers to the Harold Pinter Theatre in London's West End from 30 September to 30 December. Book tickets here from £24 

Completing a trilogy of revelatory Ibsens, Richard Eyre returns to the Almeida Theatre with a new version of LITTLE EYOLF. Jolyon Coy (Alfred) and Lydia Leonard (Rita) lead a cast, which includes Sam Hazeldine (Borgheim), Eve Ponsonby (Asta) and Eileen Walsh (Ratwoman).
