DEATH OF ENGLAND, a new play by Clint Dyer and Roy Williams, comes to the Dorfman Theatre from 31 January, press night Thursday 6 February, playing until March 7.

The Original Theatre Company and York Theatre Royal present, from the international number one best-selling author Sarah Waters, THE NIGHT WATCH, adapted by Hattie Naylor (Ivan And The Dogs, Going Dark, As the Crow Flies and Bluebeard). First performed in 2016 at Manchester's Royal Exchange, the first revival of THE NIGHT WATCH opens at Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne on 22 August, touring the UK until 23 November 2019.

Later this year, the three Shakespeare productions from the Royal Shakespeare Company's (RSC) Summer 2019 Stratford season transfer to the Barbican from 26 October 2019. The Company features 27 actors, who each appear across two of the three productions:

For the first time the Royal Shakespeare Company will tour three productions in repertoire to six regional theatres, playing for two weeks in each venue. As You Like It, The Taming of the Shrew and Measure for Measure will visit Salford in September 2019, and then Canterbury, Plymouth, Nottingham, Newcastle upon Tyne and Blackpool in early 2020. Performance dates at the end of the release.

The critically-acclaimed production originally premiered at the RSC's Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon in spring 2016 and transferred to the West End on 27 October.

Following a sold-out run at the Dorfman Theatre in 2018, The Winter's Tale by William Shakespeare returns to the National Theatre from 6th - 21st February 2019. Adapted by Justin Audibert for primary-age children and directed by Ruth Mary Johnson, this new version is the perfect introduction to Shakespeare for younger audiences.

The collaborative, cross-cast company is announced for the Royal Shakespeare Company's (RSC) productions of As You Like It, The Taming of the Shrew and Measure for Measure, playing in a newly reconfigured Royal Shakespeare Theatre next summer. Legendary actor Ian McKellen is on the mend after a leg injury which prevented the actor from performing in a weekend performance of the West End production of Shakespeare's King Lear.

Award winning actor Sir Ian McKellen sits down with Christiane Amanpour in the Duke of York Theatre for a one on one interview. Currently, McKellen is starring in the title role of Shakespeare's King Lear. He sat down with Amanpour to discuss his career on stage and screen as well as his gay rights activism.

£5 tickets to King Lear will be made available as part of Chichester Festival Theatre's Prologue scheme for 16-25 year olds.

Further casting is announced for the West End transfer of Chichester Festival Theatre's critically-acclaimed production of Shakespeare's King Lear, directed by Jonathan Munby, which will run at the Duke of York's Theatre in London for 100 performances only from 11th July to 3rd November 2018.
