After spending two full careers as a Broadway composer, first writing jazzy smash hits with lyricist Lorenz Hart and then adapting more dramatic and character-driven styles for scores penned for classics with Oscar Hammerstein II, Rodgers, upon his second partner's passing, for the first time supplied the complete set of lyrics for a musical's score.

Performances of the newly formed J2 Spotlight Musical Theater Company's (Jim Jimirro, Executive Producer/Co-Founder; Robert W. Schneider, Artistic Director/Co-Founder) production of No Strings began on Thursday, February 27, 2020. The production will run through March 8, 2020 at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th and Dyer Avenues).

The newly formed J2 Spotlight Musical Theater Company will present the 1962 hit musical, No Strings, with book by Samuel Taylor, and music and lyrics by Richard Rodgers. Performances begin performance Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 7:30pm and continue through March 8, 2020 at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street – between 9th and Dyer Avenues). The Green Room 42 presents the International Touring Casts of A Chorus Line in Off the Line, a concert series, on Monday, March 1st at 9:30PM. After successful performances at Feinstein's/ 54 BELOW, the international touring cast of A Chorus Line will present an unforgettable evening of music, dance, and laughter at The Green Room 42. Off the Line will feature a behind the scenes look at the character's inner thoughts and life on the road through the best of the musical theatre cannon.

Bill Hanney's award-winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) concludes the 2018 Subscription Season with Broadway's big, fat, hit musical, HAIRSPRAY, playing for two-weeks only from Tuesday, October 30 thru Sunday, November 11, 2018. 

Virginia Repertory Theatre announces the opening of West Side Story on Friday June 22, 2018 at the November Theatre/Arenstein Stage, 114 West Broad Street. The show will run through July 29, 2018.  Previews will be on Wednesday, June 20 and Thursday, June 21, 2018. With a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by legendary Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim, this classic musical retelling of Romeo and Juliet is set against the backdrop of New York's Hell's Kitchen in the 1950's.

Considered groundbreaking when it opened on Broadway in 1975, the musical went on to win nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical and the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Today, it remains as touching and powerful as when it debuted and is one of the longest running musicals on Broadway.

For the second production in their 46th annual season of professional summer theatre, Cortland Repertory Theatre presents the fabulous and flamboyant musical La Cage Aux Folles, which boasts a book by Harvey Fierstein based on the play by Jean Poiret, and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman. For the second production in their 46th annual season of professional summer theatre, Cortland Repertory Theatre presents the fabulous and flamboyant musical La Cage Aux Folles, which boasts a book by Harvey Fierstein based on the play by Jean Poiret, and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman. As a playwright, Fierstein is well-known for the musical Newsies and the current Broadway production of Kinky Boots; Herman is best known as the composer of Hello Dolly and Mame. While La Cage Aux Folles is a multiple Tony-Award winning musical and one of Broadway's all time greatest hits, the story is perhaps best known as the movie The Birdcage, which starred Robin Williams and Nathan Lane.

Based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the hit Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture, sorority girl Elle Woods takes on Harvard Law School in an attempt to win back the love of her life. There, she must use her brains and beauty to defend famous fitness instructor Brooke Wyndham, who has been accused of murder. Along the way she discovers that true love only finds us when we learn to truly love ourselves. Featuring a book by Heather Hach with music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, Legally Blonde is sure to "bend and snap" its way into the hearts of audiences!

For the fourth show in their 44th annual summer season, Cortland Repertory Theatre presents the Central New York premiere of the new mystery/comedy 'Sherlock Holmes & the West End Horror' by Marcia Milgrom Dodge and Anthony Dodge, adapted from the novel by Nicholas Meyer. Performances will run from July 29th - August 8th with evening performances at 7:30 PM. Matinees are available on July 31st, 4th, and 5th at 2:00 PM.
