Folksbiene's SOUL TO SOUL Explores Parallels Of African-American And Jewish Experience Through Music

Soul to Soul, the electrifying and emotionally captivating theatrical concert that explores the parallels of African American and Jewish history takes the stage this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day weekend. Presented by the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF), Soul to Soul will include for the first time the participation of Oscar- and Grammy-nominated IMPACT Repertory Theatre. The event will begin with an introduction by Rabbi Joseph Potasnik, Executive Vice President of The New York Board of Rabbis, and New York City Council Member Robert E. Cornegy, Jr., who represents the Council's 36th District spanning Bedford Stuyvesant and Crown Heights.

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF Will Hold Benefit For YES Project

Fiddler on the Roof, in Yiddish with English Supertitles, will partner with the YES PROJECT/Youth Equity Science: Fighting Stigma, Preventing Suicide With Science + Law for a special evening on Wednesday, November 6. The benefit will include a VIP reception followed by an 8:00 PM performance of the award-winning musical and a post-show talkback with the cast. National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) held its annual Summer Benefit Concert on Monday, July 15, presenting Tony- and Academy Award-winning actor and Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish director Joel Grey with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding work in film, television, and theatre; and honoring longtime supporters Mark and Audrey Mlotek.
