The Arthur Miller Foundation’s annual Arthur Miller Foundation Honors is set for November 14, 2022 in New York City and will be hosted by Broadway artists Sasha Hutchings (Hamilton, Oklahoma!) and Nik Walker (Ain't Too Proud, Hamilton).

Jennifer DiBella, Director of Education, Roundabout Theatre; Sobha Kavanakudiyl, Faculty, The Graduate Program in Educational Theatre at the City College of New York; Linda Ames Key, CTW Drama Teacher, Fordham HS for the Arts; JW Guido, Artistic Director, New York Deaf Theatre; Lindsey Buller Maliekel, Director of Education/Public Engagement, The New 42nd Street; Keeshon Morrow, Director of Arts and Culture, The Repertory Company High School for Theatre Arts; and Rachel Reiner, Director of Audience Engagement, Broadway League, who provide career path resources for women in the theatre, inspired everyone last night with their diverse programs at League of Professional Theatre Women's Networking Event Broadway/Off-Broadway Educational Theatre Practices & Career Paths at the American Airlines Theatre Penthouse.

The League of Professional Theatre Women will present a special event, 'BROADWAY/OFF-BROADWAY EDUCATIONAL THEATRE PRACTICES & CAREER PATHS' an opportunity to meet the artistic directors, education directors, education practitioners, and producers who provide career path resources for women in the theatre.

The award-winning VITAL THEATRE COMPANY has announced that its 2014 Fall Season will include four musicals for children and families, performed by adults. The season will open with The Butterfly Girl, which had its World Premiere on the Vital stage in 2011. Two popular shows returning this season are Peace, Love, and Cupcakes The Musical and the long running favorite Pinkalicious, The Musical. Fancy Nancy returns for the holidays in Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas.

Following a critically-acclaimed third season, Stark Naked Theatre Company opens its fourth season on September 5th with the southwest regional premiere of The God Game, written by award-winning playwright Suzanne Bradbeer. Critics praised The God Game in its world premiere earlier this year, calling it "a superb new drama" and "the sort of new work that theatre fans long to see." And just in time for election season, Houston audiences will likewise be enthralled with Stark Naked's production of this exciting political drama. The God Game is a relevant and thought-provoking new play that deftly examines the role of faith on the national political stage. Running through September 20th at Stark Naked Theatre's STUDIO 101, The God Game is directed by Jennifer Dean and features perennial favorites Justin Doran, Philip Lehl, and Kim Tobin-Lehl in the lead roles.

Linda Ames Key, making her Pearl debut, directs this touchstone of French existentialism in its first Off-Broadway production in over 15 years. The cast includes Pearl Resident Acting Company(RAC) member Jolly Abraham as Inez and Pearl RAC member Branford Cover as Cradeau along with Sameerah Luqmaan-Harris as Estelle and Pete McGilligot as Valet. Sartre's No Exit is exactly about that: people who were once masters of their own universe now being forced to see the lives they once lived through the eyes of other people - strangers to boot - and discover that those same lives they led while alive have accompanied them into the depth of Hell. It really isn't so bad in this place that, as Cradeau Garcin makes clear towards the play's start, is meant to have devices of torture around every turn and the torturer ready and relentless in his quest to make the dead suffer. What is so ironic here, though, is that the ability to see themselves for what they really are - essentially now being on the outside looking in - makes each character less human than how he or she was when first walking through the doors of the room eternity will be spent in. Introducing humanity into the lives of people who were without it for their entire existence actually makes Cradeau, Inez and Estelle worse because of the chunk of confidence reflecting on their own lives that disappears as they do so. In a way, having eternity to ponder why each will forever be in Hell is absolutely great as juxtaposed to a lifetime of fire, torture and pain. Why is it, then, that having nothing but their own lives to think about their lives that have ended in one sense and were never really disrupted in another makes for such an exciting and thought provoking play? Honestly, people are forced to face their own humanity, and it applies to every person who goes to see this production of No Exit by the Pearl Theatre Company.

Vital Theatre Company has announced that it has been nominated for a Chase Community Giving grant. Vital Theatre Company joins other charities nationwide in competing for grants ranging from $10,000 to $250,000. As of now, Vital Theatre Company fans will be able to cast their votes for the Chase Community Giving program through their Facebook and Chase accounts.

Vital Theatre Company, winner of the 2012 Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Family Show, has announced its 2012-2013 Family Programming season in its home theatre at 76th Street and Broadway. Featuring four musicals for children and families, this year's Vital season includes two world premieres and two returning favorites. In Fancy Nancy The Musical and Show Way, two popular children's books are newly adapted for the stage. Vital favorites Angelina Ballerina™ The Very Merry Holiday Musical and A (Tooth) Fairy Tale return to round out the season. The Off Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents and marketing firms, presented the 2nd annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards Reception yesterday, June 19th at Sardi's. The awards honor outstanding achievement in Off Broadway theater for the 2011-2012 season. Honorees were on hand to receive their awards and Howard Kissel and Theodore Mann were posthumously inducted into the Off Broadway Hall of Fame.
