 It was announced today that The Drama Book Shop will reopen its doors in March 2020 at its new Times Square home at 266 West 39th Street (between 7th and 8th Avenues). The legendary shop's new home will be only one block away from its last location.

National Geographic, with Imagine Television Studios and Fox 21 Television Studios, announced today that the Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Courtney B. Vance ('The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story') will star opposite previously announced Cynthia Erivo ('Harriet,' Broadway's 'The Color Purple') as Aretha Franklin in the next installment of the Emmy-winning global anthology series GENIUS: ARETHA. Additionally, Suzan-Lori Parks ('Topdog/Underdog') will serve as showrunner and executive producer and Anthony Hemingway ('Power,' 'The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story') will executive produce and serve as the producing director for the upcoming season. Filming will start this December for a spring 2020 premiere on National Geographic channels in 172 countries and in 43 languages.

In a new initiative, Google Arts & Culture has teamed up with Lin-Manuel Miranda and Luis Miranda Jr. and a network of museums in Puerto Rico to bring the island's artworks together online for the first time.

Playhouse Square is has announced the return of HAMILTON for a six-week engagement as a Huntington Featured Performance, from September 22 through November 1, 2020. Planning is underway for the 2020 Met Gala, which this year will be themed: About Time: Fashion and Duration. Set to host the festivities are Broadway favorite Lin-Manuel Miranda, Meryl Streep, Emma Stone, and Nicolas Ghesquière, with Anna Wintour serving as chairwoman.

The innovative educational program that debuted at HAMILTON on Broadway will continue in Philadelphia on Thursday, November 7 when over 1,700 students and teachers from 39 high schools attend the matinee performance of the musical at the Forrest Theatre.

On Saturday, November 2nd, Broadway's longest running Elphaba, Jackie Burns, worked with a group of students at Broadway Artists Alliance, workshopping audition material and sharing stories about her experiences in the industry. Burns garnered critical acclaim for her long running portrayal of Elphaba in the musical Wicked. She holds the distinction of most performances as the green-skinned witch on Broadway.

There has been a lot of news this past month regarding stage-to-screen adaptations! It was confirmed that Idina Menzel will play Evelyn, the evil stepmother, in the live-action Cinderella film starring Camila Cabello. Ariana Debose has joined the cast of Ryan Murphy's Netflix adaptation of the The Prom. In other Netflix news, it was announced that Andrew Garfield will star in the Lin-Manuel Miranda directed Netflix adaptation of tick, tick...BOOM!  

FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME has extended one final week to Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the Booth Theatre (222 W. 45th Street). For the first time on Broadway, this 85-minute show is created live every night with the audience contributing words and ideas and inspiration. No two shows are ever the same.

Deadline reports that Alexandra Shipp, Vanessa Hudgens, and Robin de Jesus have joined the cast of Lin-Manuel Miranda's upcoming Netflix adaptation of Jonathan Larson's 'tick, tick... BOOM!' Andrew Garfield will star as Jon.

Producer Jeffery Seller and the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts announced today that single tickets for HAMILTON will go on sale to the public Saturday, November 23 at 9:00 AM ET.  Tickets will be available at kravis.org and in person at the Kravis Center Box Office (701 Okeechobee Boulevard).  Tickets will be available for performances January 28 - February 16, 2020. 

BroadwaySF announced today that the third national 'And Peggy' tour of Hamilton has extended its run in San Francisco by 21 weeks and tickets for the extension are now on sale. The production is now extended through May 31, 2020 at the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco.

Joan Collins stopped by The Tony Award ® winning FORBIDDEN BROADWAY, Gerard Alessandrini's hilarious musical spoof of all things theatre, which continues at the Triad Theatre (158 West 72nd Street).   After a five-year absence, this all-new edition, whic FORBIDDEN BROADWAY: THE NEXT GENERATION, which received rave reviews, is now playing a limited engagement in  through November 30th.
