Multitalented performer Sofia Wylie ('High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,' 'Andi Mack') headlines the scripted modern/hip-hop dance series 'SHOOK' which, after gaining viewer acclaim on YouTube, will have its television debut during a special programming event, MONDAY, JAN. 20 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EST/PST) on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW.

Production has begun on 'Shook,' a modern hip-hop dance focused short-form series, starring popular actress, singer and dancer Sofia Wylie (Disney Channel's 'Andi Mack,' and the upcoming 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' for Disney+). 'Shook' will be made available SATURDAY, SEPT. 28, on Disney Channel's YouTube.

Once again, the NAACP Beverly Hills/Hollywood Branch's Theatre Viewing Committee has spoken, and the nominations are in for the 28th Annual NAACP Theatre Awards. This year's pedigreed list of nominees collectively represents a rich, extensive dossier of legacies and accolades for both stage and screen. These nominees include members of a legendary 'gospel royal family' as well as a Legend whose part of an elite group of artists in the EGOT winners circle.  Michael Thomas Grant will be stepping into the role of Skull in the highly anticipated EMOJILAND: LIVE IN CONCERT, premiering at Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Angeles next week. Grant replaces the previously announced Matt Magnusson, who left the company due to an "unforeseen professional conflict."

?The highly anticipated new musical Emojiland premieres next month as a concert reading at Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Angeles after several sneak-peek song showcases, as previously covered by BroadwayWorld. The show marks the first time emojis have been adapted into a long-form narrative.

A special event that includes a reading of the new play "This Land" by Evangeline Ordaz and a tour of The Watts Labor Community Action Committee (WLCAC)'s unique, experiential Civil Rights exhibit will be presented by Center Theatre Group (under its DouglasPlus program), the Watts Village Theater Company and WLCAC today, February 28 at the WLCAC in Watts.

With the combined credits and awards of the playwright Louis Douglas Jacobs and director David Fofi, one would expect a particularly brilliant production of the critically -acclaimed revival 7 Redneck Cheerleaders. But even with a very game, committed cast of obviously talented performers, the almost two-hour piece unfortunately never gels.

Elephant Theatre Company will present the 10 year revival of their Cult Hit 7 REDNECK CHEERLEADERS by Louis Jacobs, directed by David Fofi. Opening night is tonight, February 19th at the Lillian Theatre (1036 N. Lillian Way, Hollywood, CA 90038).
