Award winning EMH Productions continues its 7th season with a high stakes comedic romp about a bunch of old people.  Okay, older people.  And that right there is why EMH selected this play.  All too often people over 50, 60, 70 are instantly labeled "Old".

After three staged readings of three fantastic plays were presented to enthusiastic audiences at Guild Hall, the votes for the Episcopal Actors' Guild's 11th Annual Barbour Playwrights Award are in. The judges have selected Alexis Roblan's The Andrew Play (a play about siblings, loss, the confusing poetry of grief, and who owns your memory when you're gone) as this year's winner.

Blackfriars Theatre is thrilled to present the 2018-2019 artistic season. The 2017-2018 season saw record growth and momentum under current Artistic & Managing Director, Danny Hoskins. Over 1500 Rochester residents attended the holiday production of Little Women, The Musical, Broadway's Rick Lyon will bring the original Broadway puppets to the theatre's upcoming production of Avenue Q, and for the first time in the theatre's 68-year history Blackfriars has added a third full time staff member.

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces its complete 2018-2019 season lineup. The season begins with the World Premiere of The Steadfast Tin Soldier: A Christmas Pantomime, conceived and directed by Ensemble Member Mary Zimmerman from the story by Hans Christian Andersen. Following The Steadfast Tin Soldier is the World Premiere of Act(s) of God written by Ensemble Member Kareem Bandealy and directed by Ensemble Member Heidi Stillman.

Artistic Director Tony Prince and Producing Director Richard McGrew are excited to announce the 2018-2019 season of The Liminal Playhouse, consisting of four Louisville premieres.

The Barbour Playwrights Award continues on Wednesday, March 28 at 7pm with a reading of Teresa Lotz's Mommy's Little Princess. In Mommy's Little Princess, Ingrid, her boyfriend, and her new roommate find a unique way to play house, upending our notions of relationship 'norms' and the definition of family. Directed by Daniella Caggiano, the cast includes Cynthia Bastidas, Azalea Lewis, Kevin Hoffman, and Isabella Schiller. Doors open at 6:40 pm. The reading will be followed by a wine and cheese reception.

The Centerpiece Gala will be the World Premiere of Drake Doremus' sci-fi romance Zoe starring Ewan McGregor, Lea Seydoux, Rashida Jones, and Theo James. This February, The Human Race Theatre Company (HRTC) is heating up the Loft Theatre with the hottest play in the country, Sex with Strangers. Failed novelist Olivia meets Ethan, a celebrated (and much younger) writer made famous by his sexcapade tell-all blog, at a snowbound bed and breakfast, and their mutual attraction quickly gets hot and heavy. As a weekend tryst develops into a long-term romance, their personal and professional lives collide. Ethan seeks legitimacy, dismissing his bad boy reputation as nothing more than an invented character. Olivia has her doubts, but craves the literary fame Ethan can offer her. Ambition, identity and trust are in play when online personals clash with real world expectations in this smart, steamy take on modern love.

Raven Theatre is pleased to announce its 2018-19 Season, kicking off this fall with the sharp and boisterous play CRUMBS FROM THE TABLE OF JOY by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winner Lynn Nottage (Sweat, Ruined). Tyrone Phillips directs this drama about family, faith and revolution.

The Kleban Foundation just announced the recipients of the 28th Annual Kleban Prize for Musical Theatre. Adjudication in the 2018 Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist category resulted in a tiebetween Alan Schmuckler and Amanda Yesnowitz, andthe 2018 Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Christian Duhamel. The 2018 prizes will be presented on Monday, February 5, 2018, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) hosted by ASCAP and BMI at ASCAP.

Citadel Theatre will continue its 2017-18 season with Laura Eason's SEX WITH STRANGERS, in its first area production since its 2009 and 2011 stagings at Steppenwolf Theatre. The play received its World Premiere as part of Steppenwolf's First Look Repertory of New Work in 2009 and was restaged as one of the company's regular season offerings in 2011.
