Sierra Stages concludes its 2019 Season with the wickedly funny satire, a?oeThe Thanksgiving Playa?? by Native American playwright Larissa FastHorse, playing three weekends only from September 19 through October 5 at the historic Nevada Theatre in Nevada City.

Arizona Theatre Company kicks off the 2019/2020 season, its 53rd, with Marco Ramirez' power-packed boxing drama, The Royale, a deeply theatrical and emotionally moving story loosely based on the life of the world's first African-American heavyweight boxing champion, Jack Johnson, Sept. 7-28 at the Temple of Music & Art in Tucson and Oct. 3-20 at the Herberger Theater Center in Phoenix.

This summer, Sierra Stages brings the legendary musical "Cabaret" to Nevada City with an all-local Nevada County production playing from July 11 through August 3 at the historic Nevada Theatre. With a book by Joe Masteroff, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, this musical masterpiece marks the 11th annual summer musical presented by Sierra Stages. "Cabaret" is based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood.

Jobsite Theater went into their 20th anniversary season with the tagline ad astra per aspera through hardships to the stars. It turned out to be a prescient statement as the company now celebrates their most successful season to date after smash hits like revivals of Hedwig and the Angry Inch and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] as well as their new #1 best-seller, Othello. Steve Woolf's legacy at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis will live on, thanks to a successful $1 million endowment campaign. The funds will support programming in The Rep's Emerson Studio Theatre, ensuring that the theatre will continue to produce cutting-edge work in its intimate, black box-style space. The Studio season will go by a new name: the Steve Woolf Studio Series.

Seattle Public Theater is thrilled to announce its 2019/20 Season full of nationally recognized playwrights and award-winning titles all with superb conversations at their core.  Our season includes the delicious satire The Thanksgiving Play by Larissa Fasthorse;  Joshua Harmon's Admissions, a dramedy that takes an extremely timely look at the privilege of getting into college; Pipeline by Dominque Morisseau, a deeply moving story of a mother's fight to give her son a future; and the achingly human and often humorous Cost of Living by Martyna Majok, winner of the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Geffen Playhouse and Audible will co-produce Nightfall for the Los Angeles theater's 2019/2020 season, it was announced today. Written by Marisela Treviño Orta (The River Bride, Braided Sorrow, Wolf at the Door) as part of Audible's Emerging Playwrights Fund, Nightfall will make its world premiere in Geffen's Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater in February and marks the completion of the Geffen Playhouse 2019/2020 season lineup.

For its 36th season Undermain presents works from three award-winning mavericks of the American theatre in three premieres and a festival of new work. Season 36 will bring a world premiere science fiction thriller, a regional premiere of a blistering comedy of well-intentioned manners and an adaptation of a literary classic from a seminal writer of the American avant-garde in its first regional premiere, as well as the third installment of our festival of new American play readings, Whither Goest Thou America. Spring and comedy are in the air beginning March 23 when THE THANKSGIVING PLAY, with support from the Rosenthal Family Foundation, opens in the Shelterhouse Theatre. The satirical take on political correctness run amok plays through April 21. Opening night is March 28.

All plays were once new plays. That's the idea behind Syracuse Stage's Cold Read Festival of New Plays. Now in its second season, the Cold Read festival has five different events featuring some of the freshest voices writing for theater today, both nationally and locally, scheduled for Thursday, March 7, through Sunday, March 10.

Today, Olney Theatre Center Artistic Director Jason Loewith unveiled a lineup of 16 plays, concerts, and presentations coming in 2019-2020 as part of the company's 82nd season, including the highly-anticipated DC-area premiere of Miss You Like Hell by Quiara Alegria Hudes and Erin McKeown. Geffen Playhouse today announced eight productions that will make up its 2019/2020 season, with one additional production to be announced. This marks the second lineup curated by Artistic Director Matt Shakman and the 24th season for the Los Angeles theater. The season will launch Tuesday, August 20, 2019 and run through Sunday, July 19, 2020.

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis is proud to announce its Mainstage and Studio Theatre seasons for 2019-2020. This will be The Rep's first season under the leadership of new artistic director Hana S. Sharif.

Hill's direction. The design team includes Lee Savage (scenic), Nicole Wee (costumes), Devorah Kengmana (lighting), and Sadah Espii Proctor (sound).
