Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have announced a robust slate of playwright commissions through Manhattan Theatre Club's new partnership with the Edgerton Foundation, as well as a new round of commissions supported by ongoing partnerships with Bobbie Olsen and other donors.

Actors Theatre of Indiana will present its next production in the 2021-2022 season beginning October 29, 2021 and running through November 21, 2021. LOMBARDI is the story of the complex and charismatic Vince Lombardi, coach of the 1965 champion Green Bay Packers, and his wife Marie.

Palo Alto Players continues its 91st season with THE REVOLUTIONISTS - Lauren Gunderson's irreverent, girl-powered comedy about four very real women who lived boldly in France during the French Revolution's Reign of Terror. THE REVOLUTIONISTS is directed by Tessa Corrie and stars Bay Area actresses Gabriella Goldstein, Olga Molina, Katherine Hamilton, and Kimberly Ridgeway.

Dirt Dogs Theatre Co. returns to the stage this October with their Season 6 opener, The Revolutionists, a gritty comedy written by Lauren Gunderson.

The Dramatists Guild of America has announced that the recipient of the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award is Adrienne Kennedy. The award will be presented at the Guild’s annual awards ceremony at a later date.  

The Saint Louis University Theatre & Dance Program of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts has announced its line-up for the 2021-2022 University Theatre & Dance Season. The selections for this season consist of traditional and contemporary works, as well as original work from university students.

Cherry Lane Theatre, the oldest continuously running Off-Broadway theatre in New York City, has a new owner, it has been announced by Angelina Fiordellisi, the theatre’s Executive Director since having acquired the building in 1996.  Cherry Lane is located at 38 Commerce Street in Greenwich Village.

Peninsula Players Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for “Talley’s Folly” by Lanford Wilson. “Talley’s Folly” highlights one evening in the courtship of two unlikely lovers, Matt Friedman and Sally Talley, portrayed by Peninsula Players Theatre veteran actors and real-life husband and wife, Sean and Linda Fortunato.

It was just announced by the Pulitzer Prize organization that Katori Hall's The Hot Wing King has officially won the 2021 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This year's finalists included Circle Jerk by Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley and Stew by Zora Howard.

The Dramatists Guild of America has announced they will present the 2021 Horton Foote Playwriting Award to five amazing playwrights – Carla Ching, Kia Corthron, Aleshea Harris, Donja R. Love, and Mfoniso Udofia - at the Dramatists Guild’s awards presentations later this summer.

Oil Lamp Theater in Glenview have announced their 2021 Season Under the Stars. Audiences will safely experience live theater once again with two fully produced shows taking place in a new outdoor venue located on the lawn at St. David’s Episcopal Church at 2410 Glenview Road in Glenview, Illinois.

A Noise Within (ANW) will premiere their filmed staging of ALICE IN WONDERLAND streaming May 27, 2021. This Lewis Carroll classic, adapted by Eva Le Gallienne and Florida Friebus, was actually the last live production mounted on the ANW stage when theatres shut down last March. Stephanie Shroyer, who directed and conceived this Spring 2020 production, graciously agreed to answer a few of my queries.

Keen Company Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein today announced the appointment of playwright Chisa Hutchinson and actor Jason Tam to Keen’s Board of Directors. Also announced today was the appointment of actor Kate Baldwin to Keen’s Advisory Council.
