Philadelphia's only permanent outdoor flying trapeze school will offer two-hour outdoor flying trapeze lessons at Circus Campus, 6452 Greene Street in West Mt. Airy - conveniently directly next to the Upsal SEPTA Station. The first lessons take flight this weekend as a preview, with the official grand opening set for Today, August 16, 2018 at 10:30am. Lessons will run Wednesdays through Sundays, through October 28, 2018, with weekday lessons running 11:00am to 1:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and Saturdays and Sundays at 10:00am to 12:00pm, 1:00pm to 3:00pm and 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Hand to Hand, a multi-day festival of contemporary circus arts presented by Circadium School of Contemporary Circus and FringeArts, supported through the PNC Arts Alive initiative, launches May 29-June 3. With local innovators and international stars onstage (and high above it), this weeklong celebration will be Philadelphia's-and the country's-first festival dedicated to this awe-inspiring performance discipline. It all takes place at FringeArts-140 N Columbus Blvd.

Circadium School of Contemporary Circus presents the launch of Test Flights, a brand-new multi-disciplinary work-in-progress showing every month. Professional artists working in any discipline of live performance, including circus, theatre, dance, spoken-word, music and performance art, are invited to participate. Test Flights will be curated by  Circadium's Physical Theatre Instructor Ben Grinberg. This new monthly performance series is free and open to the public. 

Just before Summer arrives each year the iconic red big top of Circus Flora pops up behind Powell Symphony Hall to provide a refreshing (it's air-conditioned inside) and entertaining show that mixes a specific theme with various performing acts. It's a unique kind of circus play that never fails to thrill and delight audiences, young and old alike. I've taken my son and wife with me every year that I've been able to attend since I started reviewing theatre in St. Louis, and I'm constantly amazed by the quality of talent that we're privy to when Circus Flora presents their annual production. This year the title is TIME FLIES, and it's a funny mix of time travel and rainmaking that features some wonderful acts we've all grown to know and to love to newcomers that bring their own flair to the proceedings. Come down and check out the frivolity running through June 25, 2017. It's truly a family-friendly, and scary clown-free, experience!

Cirque du Soleil's first Broadway musical tells a tale of romance and dreams of movie stardom.

Cirque du Soleil and RED, a Sony distribution company, announced today that the Broadway cast album of PARAMOUR will be recorded on June 29 and 30 to be released later this summer. The album will contain songs and selections from the show, including material by Bob & Bill and Andreas Carlsson.

Cirque du Soleil - PARAMOUR is the organization's first production created specifically for Broadway. PARAMOUR just opened last week at the Lyric Theatre and BroadwayWorld was on hand for the special night. Check out photos from the post-show festivities below!
