I Am My Own Wife is a true life tale of survival. The biographical play tells the story of Charlotte von Mahlsdorf. Charlotte is a transgendered museum curator who built herself a life of strength, acceptance, and understanding in Nazi Germany.

The nationally regarded Fulton Theatre is proud to present the captivating tale of surviving in plain sight, I Am My Own Wife, in the Tell Studio Theatre April 4 through April 28, with Previews April 2 and 3. Star Kevin Loreque takes on this one-man show and portrays over 30 characters.

In celebration of 85 Years of Theatre By The Sea (TBTS), owner and producer Bill Hanney is proud to announce the opening of Kander and Ebb's Tony Award-winning musical Chicago, which will be presented from August 15 - September 9, 2018.

Written and directed by Rodrigo Nogueira (the latter with assistance from Valerie Mudek) and now presented at the Tank, The Ideal Obituary makes for quite the interesting play for more reasons that one. Produced in association with Torn Page and Apt 929 Studios, it is considered a dark comedy that the audience needs to dig in the darkest corner of their minds to find. The play gives the plain fact of this woman's rather bleak circumstances off the bat: once in the grasp of a debilitating sadness, she is suddenly struck with this euphoria that she will make any crude comment or travel any distance to keep; she would even sacrifice what she loves most.

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) will present the World Premiere of Brazillian playwright Rodrigo Nogueira's dark comedy, The Ideal Obituary at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues) March 8-24. Performances will be Thursday through Saturday at 8pm. Tickets ($20/$15 students & seniors) are available for advance purchase at www.thetanknyc.org.
