PS Classics releases the Encores! cast recording of MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG today, July 10th! The 2-disc album, originally set to be released June 19th but postponed due to technical issues, features a 52-page full-color booklet, with essay, synopsis, lyrics, and more than two dozen photos.

This was indeed a "Grand Night for Singing" and celebrating for the town of New Hope as they welcome all to the re-opening their cultural jewel The Buck's County Playhouse.
Last night, July 2, was the Bucks County Playhouse re-opening and ribbon cutting ceremony, as well as the first performance of Rodgers & Hammerstein's A Grand Night for Singing. The first production of the Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) 2012 summer season, A Grand Night for Singing will run through Sunday, July 29th. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place 73 years and a day after The Playhouse first opened in 1939. Special guests included Mayor Laurence Keller (New Hope), Chris Hart (son of Moss Hart), Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Cawley, Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick (U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 8th congressional district), and Will Hammerstein (Grandson of Oscar Hammerstein II). More than 20 years after its premiere, Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens have re-invented their first musical with Tony-nominated director Thomas Kail (In the Heights, Lombardi, Magic/Bird), choreographer Bradley Rapier (So You Think You Can Dance, Jesus Christ Superstar) and new orchestrations by music director Lynne Shankel (Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Altar Boyz). Once On This Island just opened last night, June 3, and runs through Sunday, June 24, 2012.
