The thirteenth edition of the Broadway at Good Theater concerts will be presented November 30 - December 4 for six performances.  This year will be a tribute to Broadway of the 1970s.   

There are few things in the world as thrilling as seeing a new work come to life on stage, especially when that stage is the Dallas Theater Center's Wyly Theatre, our local answer to Broadway-caliber theatre. The anticipation and possibility of being the first one to discover a new hit is so exciting - but it is balanced by the opportunity for a show to be unexceptional or 'not ready for primetime.' BELLA: AN AMERICAN TALL TALE, in this writer's opinion, falls into the latter category.

Dallas Theater Center announced today complete details for the world premiere musical, Bella: An American Tall Tale with book, lyrics and music by Kirsten Childs (FLY). Directed by Robert O'Hara, Bella: An American Tall Tale will begin with a Pay-What-You-Can performance on Thursday, Sept. 22 and will run through Saturday, Oct. 22 in the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre.

Prospect Theater Company, under the leadership of Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director and Melissa Huber, Managing Director, in partnership with producer Alexander Baron, continues its 2016 IGNITE Series at The TimesCenter (242 W 41st Street), with a one-night concert of Vote For Me: A Musical Debate, by Drew Fornarola and Scott Elmegreen, authors of the recent Off-Broadway hit, Straight.

The annual celebration, where men sing songs originally written for women and vice versa offering this audience the chance to see LGBT stories told through the great songs of musical theatre, set a new fundraising record. This year's BROADWAY BACKWARDS (#broadwaybackwards) took the stage last night at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC), home to the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Kinky Boots. The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park unleashes girl-powered comedy with THE REVOLUTIONISTS, Lauren Gunderson's irreverent world premiere about four badass femmes of the French Revolution. THE REVOLUTIONISTS debuts in the Playhouse's Thompson Shelterhouse Theatre Feb. 5 through March 6.

The annual Christmastime musical revue which the Good Theater presents has grown incrementally bigger, more complex, more sparkling, and more striking each season. This year's two-hour songfest, written and directed by Brian P. Allen, is dedicated to the musicals of the 1930s and with some dozen performers and an excellent musical combo, the evening proves a delightful tribute to the great American songwriters and a cheerful way to ring in the holidays.

Andrew Lippa's tragic Jazz Age love story The Wild Party follows party girl Queenie (two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster) over the course of one decadent, booze-soaked night as she and her lover Burrs (Steven Pasquale) throw the party to end all parties-with a guest list of vaudevillians, hookers, and a handsome stranger (Brandon Victor Dixon) who offers Queenie the hope of a less tawdry life.
