Three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning, Mississippi-born country artist Charley Pride will be the inaugural recipient of GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi's Crossroads of American Music Award at the Mississippi Museum's 2019 Gala on Friday, Nov. 1. Established by the Museum's Board of Directors, the Crossroads of American Music Award honors an artist who has made significant musical contributions influenced by the creativity born in the cradle of American music. Pride will appear at the Museum's 2019 Gala to accept the award on Nov. 1 at GRAMMY Museum Mississippi.

a??a??a??a??a??a??a??The Bay Street Theater has announced it will hold a special preview screening of COLLEGE BEHIND BARS, the new documentary series directed by Alfred I. duPont-Columbia and Peabody-Award winning filmmaker Lynn Novick (THE VIETNAM WAR, PROHIBITION, FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT, THE WAR). The four-hour series directed and produced by Novick and produced by longtime collaborator Sarah Botstein (THE VIETNAM WAR, PROHIBITION, THE WAR, JAZZ) revealing the transformative power of higher education through the experiences of incarcerated men and women, will air on PBS on Monday, November 25 and Tuesday, November 26 at 9 p.m. ET. The preview screening followed by a talk back with director Lynn Novick and BPI alums Dyjuan Tatro & Sebastian Yoon will take place at Bay Street Theater on Friday, August 23 at 4:30 pm. Variety and PBS SoCal announced today the actor lineup and schedule for the tenth season of their EMMY®Award-winning Variety Studio: Actors on Actors. The new season will include exclusive one-on-one conversations between top acting talent from this year's most notable television  shows who are expected to contend this Emmy season. The first two episodes will premiere on PBS SoCal on Tuesday, June 18 at 7:00 p.m. and episodes three and four will premiere on Thursday, June 20 at 7:00 p.m.  All episodes will stream on pbssocal.organd on the free PBS Video app following their premieres.

The International Festival of Arts & Ideas today announced complete details for Festival 2019, which opens on June 8 and continues for two weeks through June 22 in New Haven, Connecticut.

Making history yet again, THE SIMPSONS has been renewed for its 31st and 32nd seasons on FOX, by which time, the series will have produced 713 episodes.
