Review: World Premiere of New DIARY OF ANNE FRANK Adaptation at Nashville Children's Theatre

Wendy Kesselman’s new adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank – which is based upon the acclaimed 1955 play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett and is an update of her 1997 script which has been widely produced since – is given a superb world premiere production by Nashville Children’s Theatre, which adds luster to the original work and makes it more accessible to contemporary audiences in director Ernie Nolan’s new iteration onstage through October 2.

Ayad Akhtar Will Deliver Lecture On Arts & Public Policy at the Kennedy Center This Week

Americans for the Arts announced that acclaimed novelist and playwright Ayad Akhtar will deliver the 34th Annual Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts & Public Policy. Akhtar will be introduced by Rockefeller Brothers Fund President and CEO Stephen Heintz, and the evening will feature a performance by artists Rez Abbassi and Kiran Ahluwalia.

Majestic Theater Announces 2022-2023 Celebrity Season

Experience the magic of live entertainment with Gettysburg College’s Majestic Theater during the 2022-2023 Celebrity Season, kicking off this August. The monumental season lineup includes legendary performances by world-renowned musicians, awe-inspiring dance shows, a magician, live theater, and the first-ever film festival dedicated to the films of Ken Burns. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 17 to the general public. Majestic members can access ticket pre-sales starting Monday, June 13.

GI Film Festival Closes with Military Documentaries Today

Today, May 21st, the GI Film Festival San Diego closes the multi-day military event with documentaries that explore many themes and leave festival-goers wanting more. Kicking off the final day of film screenings will be the World Premiere of the documentary feature “Nation’s Promise” at 12 noon, and preceded by “Blind Ambition: The Wop May Story.” A Documentary Block will follow at 2:15 p.m. with three documentary shorts that explore resiliency, healing and forgiveness, including “Veterans Journey Home: On Black Mountain,” “Down on the Ranch,” and “The Monument of Tolerance.”

2022 GI Film Festival Announces Film Lineup

Organizers of the GI Film Festival San Diego are thrilled to announce a diverse film lineup for its annual event happening May 17-21, 2022 at the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA) in Balboa Park. The film festival is dedicated to presenting films and events for, by and about military and veterans, and is set to return to in-person screenings for the first time since 2019. The online box office will open on April 1 at GIFilmFestivalSD.org.

Her film credits include: THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS, THE WIZARD OF SPEED AND TIME, SCENES FROM THE CLASS STRUGGLE IN BEVERLY HILLS, LOVE CRIMES, FOR LOVE OF THE GAME, and COLLEGE ROAD TRIP.
