Today, producers Brian Moreland and Ron Simons announced casting for the world premiere of Thoughts of a Colored Man, the new play by Keenan Scott II, directed by Steve H. Broadnax III, and choreographed by Millicent Marie Johnnie in a co-production with Syracuse Stage and Baltimore Center Stage.

New York Theatre Workshop, in association with producer Brian Moreland, will present a private reading of Thoughts of a Colored Man, a new play written by Keenan Scott II, directed by Taye Diggs (Rent, Chicago, TV's 'All American'), and choreographed by Jenny Parsinen (Allegiance), on Friday, November 30 at 3 PM at NYTW's Fourth Street Theatre.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater and producer Brian A. Moreland have partnered on a two-week intensive workshop of playwright Keenan Scott II's Thoughts of a Colored Man. Directed by Taye Diggs, with choreographer Jenny Parsinen, associate director Shannon Stoeke, and music and vocals by Madison McFerrin, the piece takes a raw and honest look at the limitations, stereotypes and obstacles that the world attempts to place on men of color through their discussions of love, race, education, family, and history.

WOMEN ON FIRE: Stories from the Frontlines Has Been Extended

Royal Family Productions, a non-profit theatre company known for its innovative productions and development of new original work, will extend its acclaimed production of WOMEN ON FIRE: Stories from the Frontlines to accommodate the demand. WOMEN ON FIRE is written, curated, and directed by Royal Family artistic director Chris Henry from stories told to her by a group of anonymous women, with choreography from Lorna Ventura. The show began performances on May 11 and extended twice due to popular demand and critical and industry acclaim. WOMEN ON FIRE: will now run through June 8, 2018 at Royal Family Performing Arts Space (145 West 46th Street, 3rd Floor). Just last night, Syracuse University celebrated Taye Diggs (Class of 1993) at Syracuse University's Lubin House (11 E 61st Street). In honor of his directorial debut with 'Thoughts of a Colored Man,' they presented a reading of the new play, by Keenan Scott II with music by Madison McFerrin, for fellow alumni and invited guests.
