The Flea Theater Presents World Premiere of A.R. Gurney’s OFFICE HOURS, 9/18-10/24

The Flea Theater presents the premiere of OFFICE HOURS, by A.R. Gurney, directed by Jim Simpson and featuring The Bats, The Flea's resident company of actors. Previews begin September 18 with opening night slated for Thursday, September 30.

14th Annual FringeNYC Runs August 13-29

The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), the largest multi-arts festival in North America, will present the 14th Annual Festival from August 13th - 29th, 2010. FringeNYC shows run 2pm - midnight weekdays and noon - midnight on weekends. Annie Dorsen Debuts PIECE SANS PAROLES and MAGICAL

Obie Award-winning director/writer Annie Dorsen (PASSING STRANGE) and choreographer Anne Juren will collaborate in July 2010 on 'Magical' - a solo dance piece that uses the frame of a magic show to deal with the possibility for illusion within dance. Blending choreography, magic, and quotations from performance artists like Carolee Schneemann and Karen Finley, 'Magical' blurs the boundaries between spectatorship and voyeurism, illusion and transparency, diversion and challenge. 'Magical' premieres at Impulstanz Festival in Vienna.

Karen Finley Announces 2nd Extension for THE JACKIE LOOK; Now Running Thru April 24

After being forced to postpone the world premier of her lastest piece, THE JACKIE LOOK at the Country Club due to the venue's closing this fall, performance artist Karen Finley will now debut the piece at the Laurie Beechman on Saturday, January 23 at 7:30pm. The multimedia show will run consecutive Saturdays at 7:30pm from January 23 - February 27.

The Flea's GIRLS IN TROUBLE Ends Run April 11

The Flea Theater will end the run of its controversial production of GIRLS IN TROUBLE by playwright provocateur Jonathan Reynolds, performed by The Bats and directed by Jim Simpson on April 11th. In this bold drama, Mr. Reynolds, whose previous controversial play, Stonewall Jackson's House (short listed for the Pulitzer Prize), took on issues of racial victimization, has turned his attention to women's rights and abortion.
