Playwrights Foundation, the West Coast's premiere launchpad for exceptional plays and playwrights announces the lineup for the 2020 Bay Area Playwrights Festival.

Luna Stage has launched a series of programs to connect, celebrate and inspire local communities during the time of COVID-19. These include free 10-minute playwriting classes for community writers, solo show creation workshops featuring voices from across the country, a song cycle of commissioned pieces inspired by local heroes, and summer camps.

Metropolis Ensemble is commissioning performers to present bite-sized works from contemporary composers, as well as composers to create new works specifically for this series, which are then recorded from wherever the artists are sheltering. 'House Music' launched in late March and streams live every Tuesday and Thursday at 10AM ET. The events are accessible for free on Metropolis Ensemble's website, and its Facebook and Instagram accounts.

UCSB's Launch Pad Zooms Into Action With ALONE, TOGETHER

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional Theatre in Residence at the Oakes Center in Summit, will present its annual Meet the Artist new play reading series on Wednesdays, May 6, 13, and 20. All readings will take place on Zoom, and require advance registration.

The original Broadway cast recording of COME FROM AWAY will be released on vinyl worldwide for the first time on Friday, May 15. The album will be available as a 2-LP set on blue vinyl. Previously only available in the US as a limited-edition yellow vinyl, this edition will be available worldwide.

LAUNCH PAD alumni playwrights have rallied to provide new material for UCSB's Department of Theater and Dance students.
