Pittsburgh CLO's Gene Kelly Awards Canceled

The Pittsburgh CLO has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Gene Kelly Awards, which were previously scheduled for May 23, due to the ongoing crisis with COVID-19. This decision was made out of respect for the health and safety of the many students, families, theater professionals and fans who attend and participate in this program each year.

ABBAFAB – The Premier ABBA Experience Rescheduled at Aronoff Center

Due to Ohio Governor DeWine's recent order banning public gatherings of 100 or more people until further notice to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, ABBAFAB a?" The Premier ABBA Experience (originally scheduled for March 28) has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 4:00 PM & 8:00 PM at the Aronoff Center's Jarson-Kaplan Theater (note that the original 5:00 PM show has been rescheduled for 4:00 PM).

SEX N' THE CITY: A (SUPER UNAUTHORIZED) MUSICAL PARODY Has Been Rescheduled at the Aronoff Center

Due to yesterday's order by Ohio Governor Dewine banning public gatherings of 100 or more people until further notice to slow the spread of the Coronavirus, tomorrow evening's performance of Sex n' the City: A (Super Unauthorized) Musical Parody has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 7:30 PM at the Aronoff Center's Jarson-Kaplan Theater. The show was originally scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2020.

Overture Awards 2020 Winners Announced

The Cincinnati Arts Association has announced the winners of its Overture Awards Competition, held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Aronoff Center's Jarson-Kaplan Theater, and the winner of its Arts Educator Award for Excellence in Arts Instruction. The competition awarded $4,000 to six area students for education and training, with 19 runners-up each winning $1,000, while the Arts Educator Award winner received $2,500 and two finalists were awarded $500 each.

Eastern Music Festival Announces 59th Summer Season Of Performances

Eastern Music Festival (EMF), Greensboro's nationally recognized classical music festival and summer educational program, returns June 27 through August 1, 2020, for its 59th season. The 2020 season of Classics Reimagined includes 65+ performances by three symphonies, faculty and young artists chamber ensembles, and appearances by noted guest artists at its home location at Guilford College and other locations in Greensboro, across the Triad, and Boone, North Carolina. Over six centuries of compositions will be studied and performed during the five week Festival, including three world premieres, one U.S. premiere, several works by award-winning American composer and visiting guest artist Lowell Liebermann, and several performances of the works of Ludwig van Beethoven celebrating the 250 anniversary of the master composer's birth. 

Spring 2020 Education Events Announced at the New York Philharmonic

The New York Philharmonic has announced its spring 2020 education programs: Young People's Concerts, including one tied to Project 19, the Philharmonic's celebration of the centennial of the 19th Amendment through 19 commissions by women composers; Very Young People's Concerts; New York Philharmonic Very Young Composers Program, expanding to Brooklyn; four free concerts as part of the New York Philharmonic Youth Mentorship Program; and Musicians from the New York Philharmonic performing a free concert for individuals with dementia and their caregivers as part of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts's Lincoln Center Moments.

2020 Overture Awards Finals Competition And Awards Ceremony Announced at Aronoff Center
