CLEOPATRA, a unique Off-Broadway immersive pop musical experience, will begin performances tonight at Chelsea Music Hall (407 W 15th Street), a new venue located beneath Chelsea Market. Directed and choreographed by JT Horenstein, the new musical features music and lyrics by Jeff Daye and lyrics by Laura Kleinbaum. The premier offering of the new venue - which will officially opened to the public on Thursday, October 18 - CLEOPATRA will celebrate its opening night on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Tickets are now on sale for the open-ended engagement Power. Seduction. Ruin. The legendary Queen of the Nile is throwing one of her famously lavish parties to celebrate the Empire's latest triumphs over Rome, and you are invited to attend. Inside the palace, drinks flow, and music seduces as guests are met with every indulgence. But outside the city walls, the alluring Marc Antony beckons, the nefarious Octavian lurks, and Cleopatra's enemies plot a violent end to her prosperous reign. The Queen better watch her back.

The Oliver chats with four-time Tony-winning producer Kevin McCollum about how the decision to close a show works on his level, but also what goes into the decision to reverse course and push back an announced closing date, as he did with Broadway's 'The Play that Goes Wrong.'

Producer Nathaniel Hill announced completed casting today for CLEOPATRA, a unique Off-Broadway immersive musical experience which will begin an open-ended residency at Chelsea Music Hall (407 W 15th Street), a new venue opening underneath Chelsea Market. PUFFS or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic, New York's long-running comedy, will celebrate its landmark Two Years Anniversary as an Off Broadway hit this Saturday by putting a new block of tickets on sale through September 29, 2019.

PUFFS or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic has announced that new cast members will join the company of the show's record breaking run at New World Stages. Original cast members Langston Belton, Julie Ann Earls, A.J. Ditty, and Eleanor Phillips, who have been with the show since the first public performance at the People Improv Theater, and James Fouhey, who joined Puffs when it transferred Off Broadway, are leaving the show.

Fans all over the country just had the chance to experience the excitement of the stage play on the big screen through Fathom Events.

Tony Award nominee Bryce Pinkham (Holiday Inn, A Gentleman's Guide To Love and Murder) and Drama Desk Award winner Jim Brochu (Character Man, Zero Hour) will join forces as an odd couple of writers in 1931 Hollywood in the new play PAGE COUNT by Kerr Lockhart. An industry reading is scheduled for Monday, May 14 at 1:00 PM and 5:30 PM at 353 Studios (353 West 48th Street, Studio 3).

BLOODY BLOODY JESSICA FLETCHER: A MUSICAL PARODY, a new musical with an original score by Keith Varney and a book by Kevon Zak, Josh Lamon and Phillip Taratula, will get an industry reading on April 24. The presentation will star Beth Leavel, Josh Lamon, Phillip Taratula, Leslie Kritzer, Randy Blair, Emily Walton, and Gretchen Wylder.

PUFFS or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic - the hit comedy currently running Off Broadway at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street) - celebrates its first ever global expansion with the announcement of the play's Australian premiere in Melborne this May.  In addition to this landmark debut, plans for a U.S. tour and a national broadcast, the PUFFS New York production will expand to seven shows a week this month.

Casting has been announced for The Trial, the next play in the Politics of the Absurd reading series presented by Christopher Maring/ CM Stage Productions. Joining the reading will be Krysta Rodriguez (What We're Up Against, "Trial & Error", Spring Awakening), Mamoudou Athie ("The Get Down", Patti Cake$,), Brian Wiles ("Public Morals", "Turn"), Brian D. Coats (Jitney, "Boardwalk Empire"), John Rothman (Ghostbusters, "One Mississippi") Sam Breslin Wright ("Madame Secretary", The Beaver), and Tony nominee Kristine Neilson (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, You Can't Take it With You). The Trial, adapted by Steven Berkoff from the novel by Franz Kafka, and directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt (What We're Up Against, Dry Land), will take place at the Baruch Performing Arts Center on March 5, 6, and 7.

Casting has been announced for Rhinoceros, the first play in the Politics of the Absurd reading series presented by Christopher Maring/ CM Stage Productions. Joining the reading will be Blake DeLong (Illyria; Othello; Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812), Larry Owens (Gigantic, FAT CAMP, Grease at the MUNY), Colby Minife (Six Degrees of Separation, Long Day's Journey Into Night, Jessica Jones ) Daniel K. Isaac ( Billions , Search Party , Underland), Brian D. Coats (Jitney, Boardwalk Empire , The Merry Wives of Windsor), Deirdre Madigan (Sweat, Daredevil , Exit Strategy), and Natalie Walker (Puffs, Search Party , Clockwork). Rhinoceros, written by Eugene Ionesco and directed by Srda Vesiljevic (Dust Can't Kill Me, When I Started Dating Men), will take place at the Baruch Performing Arts Center on February 5, 6, and 7.

A private industry reading of the new play, The Search for Ecstasy will take place on Monday, February 5, 2018, at 1 PM in NYC. A new comedy by Douglas Braverman, The Search for Ecstasy will be directed by Francesco Campari.

A new reading series, Politics of the Absurd, set to launch in February, will feature three classic absurdist comedies that strikingly resonate in the current political environment.
