Renowned vocalist Kristen Lee Sergeant will wow audiences at Joe's Pub this evening. Last month, the New York-based artist unveiled her most ambitious project yet with Falling, her wide-ranging, jazz-leaning third album inspired by the multi-dimensional concept of falling.

Tomorrow, March 31, in honor of what would have been the 100th birthday of James (Jimmy) M. Nederlander, Sr., the Nederlander Organization plans to dim the lights in all 15 theaters worldwide across NY, LA, Chicago, DC and London in tribute to a great legend of theater and entertainment.

The multi award-winning show A Star is Born - the rise and fall of Judy Garland, Kerry Hiles, accompanied by Nathan Johannisen, shines the light on Judy Garland, the undisputed queen of cabaret. Her career began at the age of two and a half. At the age of 13 she signed her first movie contract. The Wizard of Oz earned her an Oscar at 17… by 47 she was dead. How did Hollywood's brightest star dim so fast?

Abigail Brooks Lehrer (Abby Lehrer) is from Castle Rock Colorado, she is a singer and songwriter, and TikTok star. She competed on American Idol Season 20 and her audition aired last weekend. She recently graduated from the Institute for American Musical Theatre. She currently resides in New York City and works in a cafe. When the cafe is empty she sings with a broom in hand as her microphone. She also used the broom for her microphone at her audition. She did score the golden ticket to Hollywood!

After sellout engagements in New York and London, singer Carole J. Bufford will bring her newest show Vintage Pop! to Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood, The Purple Room in Palm Springs, and Martinis in San Diego. She will appear in Hollywood on Wednesday, March 30, at 8:30pm; in Palm Springs on Friday, April 1, at 8pm; and in San Diego on Saturday, April 2, at 8pm.

Rufus Wainwright has announced the release of Rufus Does Judy at Capitol Studios, an all-new performance of his tribute to Judy Garland, Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall, recorded last year at Los Angeles’ famed Capitol Studios. The New York Pops, led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke, presented Get Happy: That Nelson Riddle Sound on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 8:00pm in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. 

Nelson Riddle, the legendary arranger/orchestrator/composer is largely responsible for what we think of as the sound of The Great American Songbook. His arrangements and orchestrations for artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole Dean Martin, Judy Garland, Johnny Mathis, Rosemary Clooney, and Doris Day, created for the Capitol label defined the sound of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. He is responsible for resuscitating Sinatra’s career and turning him into the legend he became. Riddle is the creator of the “Rat Pack” sound, composing scores for Robin and the Seven Hoods and Ocean’s 11 among dozens of other films. He won an Oscar for the score of 1974’s The Great Gatsby in addition to 3 Grammy awards, two of them for his album collaborations with Linda Ronstadt that revived his extraordinary career shortly before his death in 1985. It’s hard to overestimate his importance to American popular music.

Jenna Pastuszek and Joshua Zecher-Ross will debut GET HAPPY!: A Tribute to the World's Greatest Entertainer, Judy Garland, at The Green Room 42 in NYC. It's been 83 years since the world first heard Judy Garland sing about a place 'somewhere over the rainbow,' and her star power is just as potent as it was then.

After a two-year delay American Stage in the Park iwill welcome the full cast and crew of Footloose, based on the 1984 film. Originally set for April of 2020, American Stage is proud to finally be able to safely produce a Park show after the delay of the Covid-19 pandemic.   

For the first time, Broadway star and Tony Award-winner Lillias White takes to the Crazy Coqs stage; Crazy Coqs regular and favourite Lorna Luft returns with a new show celebrating the Great American Songbook, as well as songs made famous by her mother, Judy Garland, and more!
