The Illinois Arts Council Agency has announced the 2021 Artist Fellowship Award recipients.

Finalist Awards of $1,500 were also awarded to 10 Illinois artists for a total of $15,000. The Finalist Award category recognizes and encourages additional applicants who demonstrate considerable talent.

This will be Sawyer’s first tour supporting his Spring of 2020 release, Flowers For You, as his planned album release tour was canceled due to the pandemic, and will be an album release tour for The Accidentals as they release their long-awaited Vessel album.

The Illinois Local Arts Network will kick off the eleventh edition of this event with pre-conference activities on October 4.

On August 7th, the first group of curious New Yorkers journeyed to the edge of technological art and actor-driven narrative at the soft opening of New York City's latest immersive experience, ZeroSpace. On July 12 Millbrook Playhouse presents the Tony Award-winning Broadway phenomenon, Newsies: The Musical. Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is a rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a "heroically, charismatic, plainspoken, know nothing, skirt chasing" newsboy and leader of a band of teen aged "newsies." When the titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys' expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right!

The Board of Directors and Artistic Director, David Leidholdt, are announcing Millbrook's opening production of the ground-breaking Tony Award-nominated musical, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD, with book and lyrics by Willie Reale and music by Robert Reale, opening June 7, on the Ryan Main Stage.

Additional pre-conference events for the Illinois Local Arts Network on October 21 will kick off the tenth occasion of this statewide convening for the arts, culture, and creativity.
