Broadway Dance Lab announced today that it has awarded creation grants to choreographers Hope Boykin, Jessica Hendricks, and Nicholas Ranauro, as part of the company's Fall 2018 Cycle. The grantees will each be gifted 20 hours of rehearsal time and a company of 12 professional dancers, to be used in the development of new work. The Cycle will run Oct. 15 - Nov. 17, and will culminate with an informal showing of the new works-in-progress.

The Tony and Grammy Award-winning Broadway hit BEAUTIFUL-THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL, about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter, will play the Boston Opera House January 29 - February 10, 2019 as part of the 2018-2019 Lexus Broadway In Boston Season. The Tony, Olivier, and Grammy Award-winning smash hit Beautiful - The Carole King Musical will perform live on Monday's episode of ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars.' The cast of Beautiful lead by North American tour star Sarah Bockel will perform 'Natural Woman' for contestants Mary Lou Retton and Sasha Farber as part of 'Dancing with the Stars.' The wild popular program airs locally on WABC-7 at 8 PM ET.

The cast of Beautiful lead by Broadway star Abby Mueller performed a new medley featuring some of Ms. King's most iconic songs on the highly rated NBC program.

The 60-member cast includes Broadway veterans working alongside some of the nation's most promising new talent, all showcased in an brand-new staging, featuring imaginative sets and costumes inspired by the classic Disney film. In 2011, Music Theatre Wichita was one of the first three theatres in the country to receive permission from the Disney Company to produce this title following its Broadway run, and the new edition marks the local premiere of the newly revised script and score. "The Little Mermaid" runs for ten performances, August 8-18 at the Century II Concert Hall in downtown Wichita, Kansas.

Producers Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing have announced the National Tour of the Tony and Grammy Award-winning hit musical BEAUTIFUL - THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL will make its Minneapolis return as part of the of 2018-2019 Bank of American Broadway on Hennepin series Monday, Oct. 22 to Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 at the historic Orpheum Theatre (910 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis).

Broadway Dance Lab will launch its first summer Choreography Intensive today, welcoming 10 young choreographers, ages 18-29, for a one-week immersion in the art of theatre dance-making. The faculty roster includes BDL Artistic Director Josh Prince, Jeff Calhoun, JoAnn M. Hunter, Al Blackstone, Marc Bruni, and more. The program will run through August 5 at Baryshnikov Arts Center.
