What better way to welcome Spring back to Maine than with the classic fairytale of re-awakening, SLEEPING BEAUTY, which Maine State Ballet has chosen for its current performance! 

Are weddings where people sometimes find themselves “happily unhappy”?  That contradiction and it’s overcoming is at the heart of It Shoulda Been You, the first mainstage production presented at the new home of Portland’s Good Theater.

Maine State Ballet welcomes spring with a lively production of DON QUIXOTE, the 19th century classic with music by Ludwig Minkus and original choreography by Marius Petipa and Alexander Gorsky.  The colorful, energetic staging by Artistic Director Linda MacArthur Miele, offers the more than forty-member company a chance to showcase some virtuosic dancing.

An afternoon at the Maine State Ballet's production of Cinderella is an opportunity to revel in a lovely fantasy tale told in exquisite choreography. The revival of Prokofiev's ballet with choreography by Linda MacArthur Miele is opulent to look at and offers moments of dazzling dance.

For a week in January Maine State Ballet dancers temporarily put away their toe shoes, take out their tap and jazz footwear and revel in the choreography of Broadway musicals. The program, Tap, Tap, Jazz, which offers eighteen numbers - both solo and ensemble - each choreographed by a company member, showcases the entire company's versatility and talent.

The interesting thing about The Nutcracker at the Merrill Auditorium in Portland, Maine is just how quickly an audience can settle into it, year after year, like a cup of hot chocolate on a cold night. The venue is packed with an audience of all ages, some dressed in their 'night on the town' finery while others sport flannel shirts, jeans and a baseball cap. That's the magic of this production, a full-scale ballet and orchestra that appeals to a wide-ranging audience here in Maine.

We gotta dance! The Oak Hill Players are back at it again in their 2017-18 season with SINGIN' IN THE RAIN! After a record breaking run of GREASE, the Oak Hill Players putting on their raincoats and grabbing their umbrellas as they prepare this new show for the public.

Maine State Ballet brings some Spanish spice to summer with a two-week run of Don Quixote, the classic comedic ballet based on the novel by Miguel de Cervantes, August 10 through August 19, at Maine State Ballet's Lopez Theater.

The time has come for the Oak Hill Players to make 'em laugh again because SINGIN' IN THE RAIN at the Winslow Homer Center for the Arts officially has a cast list!

What a glorious feeling! Just announced, the fall show at the Winslow Homer Center for the Arts at Scarborough High School will be SINGIN' IN THE RAIN!

OHP is burning up the quarter mile at Scarborough High School as opening night speeds towards them. The cast is hard at work polishing this iconic musical for the first performance on May 4th.

Tell me more, tell me more! After many years without a spring show, the Oak Hill Players of Scarborough High School are beginning rehearsals for the smash hit musical, Grease! The cast includes myself, junior Samuel Laro (Crazy for You, Anything Goes, Little Shop of Horrors) as greaser Danny Zuko, and senior Hallie Scammell (Crazy for You, West Side Story, White Christmas) as the hopelessly devoted Sandy Dumbrowski.
