The second entry in the playwright's 'Energy' series (following up the world premiere production of Crude), concerning the dirty dealings and messy relationships at a clean energy wind farm, Whirlwind begins previews at The Wild Project (195 E. 3rd St., between Ave. A and Ave. B) on January 23 toward an opening on January 28, with a limited engagement scheduled through February 10. English playwright' Michael Frayn's award winning 1982 play presents an alternative perspective to the theatrical process and everyone who participates in a production's success. Produced for the first time at the Guthrie, the farce features multiple doors, opening and closing, swinging axes, hurdling down steps and fanciful love triangles along with the iconic plate of sardines through this play within a play format. 59E59 Theaters will welcome Gold No Trade with the NYC premiere of THE SUBTLE BODY, written by Megan Campisi, with a Chinese translation by Grant Zhong, and directed by Michael Leibenluft. THE SUBTLE BODY begins performances on Thursday, February 12 for a limited engagement through Sunday, March 1. Press opening is Sunday, February 15 at 3:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday and Saturday at 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM. Please note, there is no performance on Wednesday, February 25.
