In light of the City of Sarasota's recent declaration of a public health emergency, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall has suspended events through March 31, 2020, effective immediately.

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater have announced listing for March 9 through March 22: 

Artists appearing at Birdland Jazz Club include John Pizzarelli (The Swing 7 and Quartet), Steve Ross, Erena Terakubo and Nana Quintet, Leanne Borghesi & Marta Sanders, Constantine Maroulis, Michelle Lordi and David Berger Orchestra.

With the inspiration that Nat King Cole's tv show brought to the American public including talented singers such as Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Carmen McRae and many others, John Pizzarelli and Catherine Russell will be paying homage to Nat King Cole and these iconic singers with their new show, A Tribute to Nat King Cole and Ladies of Song a?" coming to the Van Wezel on Wednesday, March 18 at 8 p.m. Songs throughout the evening will include some of Nat King Cole's most memorable hits such as a?oeRoute 66,a?? a?oeStraighten Up & Fly Righta?? and a?oePaper Moona?? along with the timeless works from Ladies of Song.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), today announced the line-up for this year's 'Mr. Abbott' Award Gala honoring acclaimed director Joe Mantello.

Bethel Woods Center for the Arts today announced that legendary singer-songwriter James Taylor will perform at the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock festival on Friday, June 19th with special guest Jackson Browne.

And, in keeping with the beloved HIJ tradition, a surprise special guest will be on hand for the concert, held at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center.

Lyrics & Lyricists opens its new season with a salute to Yip Harburg, who appeared on the 92nd Street Y stage for L&L's first show in December 1970. Harburg was a master lyricist, poet, and book writer who worked with more than 40 composers in writing over 600 songs, including such classics as 'April in Paris,' 'Old Devil Moon,' 'Lydia, the Tattooed Lady,' 'Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?,' 'Paper Moon,' and, of course, 'Over the Rainbow.' Mikaela Bennett, Clifton Duncan, Desi Oakley, Megan Sikora and Nick Spangler bring Harburg's story to life-from his Lower East Side childhood to being blacklisted by HUAC. Matt Kunkel's direction, with musical direction by Paul Masse and a script by Jon Marans, weaves together Harburg's comedic and political sides.

Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center has announced a Holiday tradition with the Green Mountain Mahler Festival's performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony on Saturday, December 28 at 7:00 pm.
