Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater are open this September with a full slate of nightly performances!

BIRDLAND THEATER will present the return of Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf – the acclaimed cellist celebrating her recent album Music of Broadway for Cello and Piano – on Monday, September 19 at 8:30 PM.

South Florida and New York audiences know Jill Switzer as the Songstress of the Great American Songbook. Local fans know her as a spokesmodel, one-half of the Legends Radio Morning Lounge with Jill and Rich, and a regular entertainer on Palm Beach County's top stages.

JAZZ AT THE BALLROOM (JATB) comes to the Colony Theatre in Burbank to present 'Accentuate the Positive,' a performance of the unforgettable music from the Great American Songbook on Friday, Sept. 16 at 8:00 p.m.

Chelsea Table + Stage will present “Take Me Back to Manhattan” the new Emmy Award-nominated musical revue from Jazz at the Ballroom, hosted by NPR's Ophira Eiesenberg, on Saturday, September 3 at 7:00 PM. 

World-renowned guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli has been hailed for reinvigorating the Great American Songbook and re-popularizing jazz. Over the years, he expanded his repertoire to include songs by Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Tom Waits, Antônio Carlos Jobim and The Beatles. His interest in Frank Sinatra led him to dedicate two albums to the legendary vocalist: “Dear Mr. Sinatra” and “Sinatra & Jobim @ 50.”

You won't want to miss the Jack Skleinsinger's dynamic final Highlights in Jazz concert for 2022, when today's top jazz players take to the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center stage to celebrate the Return of the Jam Session. The 49th season final is is set for May 12. It features Peter and Will Anderson on saxophones, flutes and clarinets; trombonist Wycliffe Gordon, pianist Ted Rosenthal, drummer Victor Lewis, trumpeter Brian Lynch and guitarist James Chirillo, playing together for the very first time.

On Thursday, March 31st from 5:00 - 6:30 pm in Dorothy Maynor Hall at the Harlem School of the Arts (HSA), the brilliant young pianist, bandleader and composer Isaiah J. Thompson will guide the HSA's young instrumentalist student group, through a masterclass that includes a critique on technique, performance and improvisational skills.
