The OBC Theater, in Corona, has a winner in its rollicking production of OLIVER. It is a bit of a schlep from the Coachella Valley, but it's worth the trip to see the imaginative choreography and adept acting, to hear the lovely singing from adults and children alike, and to marvel at the clever costumes and scenery.

Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research announced today that they will honor designer Andrew Warren at the first ever Midsummer Angel Gala, "Where Art & Music Meets Cancer". Established from the desire of young entrepreneurs and professionals to give back and make a difference in the fight against cancer, proceeds raised from the evening will benefit the Foundation's music therapy program for cancer patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Hosted by YouTube star Twan Kuyper, the event will be held on Monday, June 24th at The Fleur Room in New York City.
Oklahoma husband / wife duo, The Imaginaries, Shane Henry (guitar, vocals) and Maggie McClure (keys, piano, vocals), recently finished recording their debut album, their first together as The Imaginaries, in famed Muscle Shoals, AL. An exciting new creative collaboration between independent film and independent theater begins this June at Fringe Festival with an adaptation of the indie cult classic comedy horror film Hell's Kitty! The Los Angeles theatre company New Musicals Inc. (NMI) and the entertainment production company Smart Media have teamed up to present HELL'S KITTY: The Musical, a comedy, horror musical based on the original award-winning Hell's Kitty web-series, comic book, and movie. There's even a musical exorcism of a cat sung mostly in Latin, with "Exorcismus Feline," and the theme song from the film sung in ensemble titled "My Pussy's Possessed."
Joe Pug's new record “The Flood In Color” is nearly four years in the making. But that betrays the fact that the making of the album was one of the most natural and rewarding processes of his career. Produced by Kenneth Pattengale of the Milk Carton Kids and engineered by Matt Ross-Spang, the album started with the goal of focusing on the simplicity of musicians playing together, live, in the same room. Recently relocating back to his childhood home in Prince Georges County, Maryland after many years spent in Chicago and Austin, Pug wanted to take a new approach. The partnership with Pattengale proved to be an irresistible opportunity to do just that.
