The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and rediscovery of musical gems from the past, as part of its 50th Anniversary season celebration, will present two special events during the month of January: A York Chat: '50 Years of The York,' first in a series of panel discussions, and a staged concert of the 1969 Broadway musical Celebration written by the legendary songwriting team Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones. Both special events will take place at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

The GRAMMY Award-winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus---recently featured in the New York Times, on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and on Fox 5 News at Six with Ernie Anastos---performs four free/cheap shows for the home borough this holiday season next week. Locals can catch the starry Chorus for free at the Brooklyn Borough President's Tree Lighting (Dec. 11 at 5:15p), and with affordable tickets to three concert programs at Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph with Holiday Harmonies (Dec. 13th at 7:30pm and Dec. 14th at 2:30pm), as well as Winter's Eve (Dec. 14th at 7:30pm). The 28-year-old Brooklyn institution draws 7-17 year old singers from all five boroughs, and has established a national profile as the go-to youth choir for classical, pop, theatrical, and out-of-the-box collaborations with A-list artists and institutions like Bon Iver, The National, Beyonce & Jay-Z, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, the New York Philharmonic, Nico Muhly, and Caroline Shaw.

GRAMMY® Award-winning and Country Music Hall of Fame members, The Oak Ridge Boys, will once again celebrate the Christmas season with their timeless hits and holiday classics on their 2019 Down Home Christmas Tour. The Oak Ridge Boys will perform over thirty-one concerts and are set to kick-off on November 13th in Branson, Missouri, playing in 28 cities and 14 states across the U.S. In conjunction with the tour, the Oaks' latest Christmas album, Down Home Christmas, produced by Dave Cobb, will be released by Lightning Rod Records/Thirty Tigers on October 25, 2019.

Oakland University will welcome actor, singer and Tony Award nominated Broadway star Josh Young to campus this fall as he joins the faculty in the Department of Theatre in the School of Music, Theatre and Dance. 

The Broadway musical AMAZING GRACE, which launched its successful national tour last year with an eight-week run at The Museum of the Bible, will return with its inspirational message as the Museum's newest installation in its Pure Flix World Stages.  It will begin performances on March 16 and run through August 18, 2019.

The biographical musical Soul Doctor tells the incredible story of real-life 'singing rabbi' Shlomo Carlebach and his unlikely friendship with Nina Simone, the high priestess of soul. Together their music became an important voice of social change.   A smash hit off Broadway, this spirited San Diego production begins Tuesday, April 3 and will run for three weeks only at the Lyceum Theatre in downtown San Diego, the first stop on a major tour which heads to the Saban Theatre in Los Angeles, May 3- 13 and then to the Hirsch Theater in Jerusalem.
