On June 14th, 2018, at Pines Manor in Edison, NJ, John McEwen, Executive Director of New Jersey Theatre Alliance ("the Alliance") will receive The Robert J. Smythe Award for Outstanding Professional Fundraiser from the New Jersey chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals ("AFP-NJ").

New Jersey Theatre Alliance ("The Alliance") announced that Michael Schnoering, FAIA, has joined its board of trustees. The Alliance is a service organization for the 31 non-profit, professional theatres in New Jersey, supporting them and the theatre-going public with a wide array of services and programs.

New Jersey Theatre Alliance presents Hudson Theatre Works' Readings from the Edge series consisting of The Exonerated by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen on Monday and Tuesday, March 12 and 13 @7:30PM. This event is part of the Alliance's Stages Festival, the state's largest annual theatre festival that provides free and discounted theatre events for all ages throughout the month of March. Admission is Free. The Exonerated - A powerful drama that reveals the true stories of exonerated prisoners from interviews and court transcripts, some of whom spent as many as twenty two years behind bars.

New Jersey Theatre Alliance and Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre present Mi Casa Tu Casa at Oakes Center, 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, on Friday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. This event is part of the Alliance's Stages Festival, the state's largest annual theatre festival that provides free and discounted theatre events for all ages throughout the month of March. This event is free and open to the public.

Three of New Jersey's top corporations, Bank of America, The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey, and PSEG Foundation, have once again joined forces with the New Jersey State Arts Council to support the 21st annual  Stages Festival ("Stages"). Stages will offer over 90 theatre performances and programs for children and adults free of charge or at significantly discounted rates. Cutting-edge play development meets insightful community dialogue at NJPAC Stage Exchange, a program that supports three new plays by established playwrights focusing on issues relevant to New Jersey residents.

New Jersey Theatre Alliance ( the Alliance ) received a $15,000 grant from Investors Foundation headquartered in Short Hills, NJ, for the second wave of the See Professional Theatre campaign. The grant will help the Alliance promote New Jersey's professional theatres by funding a video series that will introduce people to the variety, accessibility, and high quality of New Jersey's professional theatres.

In a proclamation dated September 19, 2017, Morristown Mayor Timothy P. Dougherty declared that October 23, 2017 will be known as New Jersey Theatre Alliance Day. On that day, New Jersey Theatre Alliance ( the Alliance ) will host Curtain Call, its annual celebration of theatre, at the Westin Governor Morris in Morristown, honoring the artistic directors of its member theatres for their dedication and artistic vision, and Atlantic Health System for its support of theatre programming that enhances the health and wellbeing of New Jersey residents. The event, which is open to the public, will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and includes buffet stations, wine and beer, entertainment, a silent auction, and a raffle.

New Jersey Theatre Alliance ("The Alliance"), the service organization for the state's professional theatres, has relocated from West Orange to 7 King Place in Morristown, the Mayo Performing Arts Center's ("MPAC") annex.

On Today, June 22nd, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Cultural Access Network Project (CAN), a program of New Jersey Theatre Alliance and New Jersey State Council on the Arts, will host the ninth annual Excellence in Cultural Access Awards at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. Attended by leaders in the state's arts and cultural community, the event will feature a keynote address by Valerie Fletcher, executive director of the Institute of Human Centered Design, educational roundtables, pop-up galleries with artwork by artists with disabilities, entertainment by Premiere Stages of Kean University, and a reception.

On Thursday, June 22nd, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Cultural Access Network Project (CAN), a program of New Jersey Theatre Alliance and New Jersey State Council on the Arts, will host the ninth annual Excellence in Cultural Access Awards at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. New Jersey will welcome arts service organizations from across the U.S. and Canada to the 35th annual conference of the Association of Performing Arts Service Organizations ("APASO") from May 17th to 19th. The Asbury Hotel in Asbury Park is the host hotel, and events will be held at various locations in Asbury Park, at Two River Theater and the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, at McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, and at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton.

New Jersey Theatre Alliance (the Alliance), in partnership with New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), welcomes NJPAC Stage Exchange ("StageX") back for its third year. Cutting-edge play development meets insightful community dialogue at StageX, a program that involves three newly commissioned plays by three established New Jersey playwrights, three draft readings with public commentary at NJPAC in Newark, and three full productions at New Jersey professional theatres the following year.
