New Jersey's Stages Festival Offers Over 80 Free And Low-cost Theatre Experiences For All Ages

New Jersey Theatre Alliance (a?oethe Alliancea??) is offering over 80 performances and programs for children and adults free-of-charge or at significantly discounted rates during its 23rd annual Stages Festival (a?oeStagesa??), a statewide event. Offerings include performances, workshops, readings of new plays, and participatory community discussions taking place at theatres, libraries, community centers, and other venues throughout the months of March, April, and May, 2020.

CURTAIN CALL, A Celebration of Theatre, To Be Held in Asbury Park

On October 22, 2018,  New Jersey Theatre Alliance ("the Alliance") will host Curtain Call, its annual celebration of theatre, at The Asbury Hotel in Asbury Park. Honorees include the education leaders of its member theatres, as well as board president Larry Capo whose lifelong dedication to the arts has made a lasting impact on The Alliance and our state arts community. The event, which is open to the public, will take place from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm and includes buffet stations, wine and beer, entertainment, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle.

Linda Kinsey and Marshall Jones III Join Board of NJ Theatre Alliance

Three Theatres Join NJ Theatre Alliance

New Jersey Theatre Alliance ("the Alliance") announced that Surflight Theatre of Beach Haven, Art House Productions of Jersey City, and Speranza Theatre Company of Jersey City have joined the other 31 professional, producing theatres of New Jersey as members of the Alliance. Founded in 1981, the Alliance was the first statewide service organization for professional, not-for-profit theatre companies in the United States, and is a leader in developing model programs that unite, promote, strengthen, and cultivate professional theatre in New Jersey.

New Jersey Theatre Alliance presents Hudson Theatre Works' Readings from the Edge series consisting of The Exonerated by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen on Monday and Tuesday, March 12 and 13 @7:30PM. New Jersey Corporations Join Forces To Support Local Theatre

Three of New Jersey's top corporations, Bank of America, The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey, and PSEG Foundation, have once again joined forces with the New Jersey State Arts Council to support the 21st annual  Stages Festival ("Stages"). Stages will offer over 90 theatre performances and programs for children and adults free of charge or at significantly discounted rates. Events will take place at theatres, art centers, libraries, schools, and other community venues from March 1st to the 31st, across the state.

NJ Theatre Alliance Receives Grant For Video Series

New Jersey Theatre Alliance ( the Alliance ) received a $15,000 grant from Investors Foundation headquartered in Short Hills, NJ, for the second wave of the See Professional Theatre campaign. The grant will help the Alliance promote New Jersey's professional theatres by funding a video series that will introduce people to the variety, accessibility, and high quality of New Jersey's professional theatres.

CURTAIN CALL to Take Place on 10/23 for New Jersey Theatre Alliance Day

In a proclamation dated September 19, 2017, Morristown Mayor Timothy P. Dougherty declared that October 23, 2017 will be known as New Jersey Theatre Alliance Day. On that day, New Jersey Theatre Alliance ( the Alliance ) will host Curtain Call, its annual celebration of theatre, at the Westin Governor Morris in Morristown, honoring the artistic directors of its member theatres for their dedication and artistic vision, and Atlantic Health System for its support of theatre programming that enhances the health and wellbeing of New Jersey residents. The event, which is open to the public, will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and includes buffet stations, wine and beer, entertainment, a silent auction, and a raffle.
