CSC Announces Cast of MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC) and Artistic Director Steven Maler are pleased to announce the cast and creative team of Free Shakespeare on the Common in the summer of 2022 - William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Megan Sandberg-Zakian. Performances will begin on The Boston Common on Wednesday, July 20 at 8PM (with press opening on Wednesday, July 27 at 8PM) and end on Sunday, August 7.  

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company Announces Benefit Staged Reading of MEASURE FOR MEASURE

CSC will host a one-night-only benefit staged reading of Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare, directed by Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler. This production will feature Christian Coulson (Harry Potter, The Hours, Mozart in the Jungle, Nashville) as Angelo and features a dynamic cast of the area’s extraordinary talent. 

Huntington Announces Additional New Plays In 'Dream Boston' Series

Huntington Theatre Company announces the launch of seven additional titles to its series of short audio plays entitled Dream Boston. Four plays were announced in July, and the next seven will be released over subsequent weeks this fall. They are available on the Huntington's website, as well as on Apple, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and Stitcher.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company Postpones THE TEMPEST To 2021

Due to the continued effects of COVID-19 on Boston and its community, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company is postponing its production of The Tempeston the Boston Common until July 2021 with the same artistic and design team, as scheduling allows, including Tony Award nominee John Douglas Thompson* as Prospero, Remo Airaldi* as Antonio, Nora Eschenheimer* as Miranda, actor/playwright John Kuntz* as Trinculo, Nael Nacer* as Caliban, Richard Noble as Alonso, Fred Sullivan, Jr.* as Stephano, and Michael Underhill as Ferdinand. Scenic Design is by Tony Award winner Clint Ramos and Jeffrey Petersen, Costume Design by Nancy Leary, Lighting Design by Eric Southern, and Sound Design by David Reiffel.  

The Hotel Nepenthe is Next Up at Phoenix Theatre

The thrilling style of film director David Lynch meets the heartbreaking pathos of playwright William Inge in John Kuntz's remarkable The Hotel Nepenthe. Four actors inhabit 19 characters who live or work in or around The Hotel Nepenthe, a locale straight out of a film noir from Hollywood's golden era.
