Circuit Theatre to Start 2014-15 Season with Taylor Mac's THE WALK ACROSS AMERICA FOR MOTHER EARTH at OBERON, 7/9

The Circuit Theatre Company, a critically-acclaimed, IRNE-nominated company run and operated by young theatre artists from across the country, is celebrating its fifth season by presenting three epic productions that explore questions of history, identity, and personal narrative in America. Now more than ever, Circuit hopes to celebrate the voice of young artists in Boston, while pushing the boundaries of what theatre can do and be. The season will feature the world premiere of an as-of-yet untitled new play by John Kuntz, commissioned by Circuit, at the Boston Center for the Arts. Its season will also include the Boston premieres of 'The Walk Across America for Mother Earth' by A.R.T favorite Taylor Mac and Ellen Maddow and 'Welcome to Arroyo's' by Kristoffer Diaz (playwright of 'The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity') at the OBERON. All three shows are entirely produced, directed, designed, and acted by young theatre professionals.

SpeakEasy Adds MOTHERS AND SONS to its 14-15 Season

Terrence McNally's recent Tony-nominated play MOTHERS AND SONS will be the final show in SpeakEasy Stage Company's 24th Season, the theatre's Producing Artistic Director Paul Daigneault announced today. MOTHERS AND SONS will play for five weeks, May 8 - June 6, 2015, in the Roberts Studio Theatre in the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts.

BIG FISH, FAR FROM HEAVEN, BAD JEWS & More Set for SpeakEasy Stage Company's 2014-15 Season

A reimagining of the Broadway musical BIG FISH, the New England Premiere of the comedy BAD JEWS, the Boston Premiere of the acclaimed musical FAR FROM HEAVEN, and two World Premiere plays - NECESSARY MONSTERS by John Kuntz and A FUTURE PERFECT by Ken Urban - are among the six productions that SpeakEasy Stage Company will present during its 2014-2015 Season. The final show of the company's 24th Season will be announced at a later date.

SpeakEasy Stage's THE WHALE Extends Through 4/12

Due to critical and popular acclaim, SpeakEasy Stage Company is adding one additional week of performances to its New England premiere production of THE WHALE by Samuel D. Hunter.

German Stage to Present THE GOLDEN DRAGON, 12/8

German Stage presents this hilarious comedy about a globalizing world, The Golden Dragon, featuring Nael Nacer, Patrick Shea, Paula Plum, Phil Tayler and Tiffany Chen, directed by Guy Ben-Aharon. There will be a Q&A following the performance as well as a reception

Huntington Theatre Company's Kicks Off Annual Workshops Today

The Huntington Theatre Company's second annual Summer Workshop begins today, July 9. The two-week, artist-driven developmental retreat for selected members of the Huntington's Playwriting Fellows program will culminate in public readings on July 20 and 21 of four new plays in development:

One of Greater Boston's most beloved traditions, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company's 'Free Shakespeare On The Common' celebrates its 18th season with the comedy The Two Gentlemen of Verona. Inspired by Rat Pack-era Vegas, this production brings together the talents of CSC's Artistic Director Steve Maler, music director Colin Thurmond and choreographer Yo-el Cassel. Playing today, July 6 - 28, 2013.

Boston Playwrights' Theatre to Host BOSTON THEATER MARATHON XV, 5/11-12

Boston Playwrights' Theatre presents the 15th annual Boston Theater Marathon and the fifth year of The Warm-Up Laps. The Boston Theater Marathon features 53 ten-minute plays, by 54 New England playwrights, produced by 53 New England theatres in 10 hours.
