Stars of theatre and screen take to the stage next month for this year's gilt-edged line-up of Qdos Entertainment pantomimes, 24 of which will come to life across the UK this winter.

The Pearl Theatre Company begins its 2015-2016 season with Bedlam Theater Artistic Director Eric Tucker's fresh take on William Shakespeare's classic A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, following a highly successful engagement of the production at the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival this summer. Palm Beach Dramaworks is pleased to announce casting for its first three productions of the 2015-16 season, which will feature many familiar faces. Individual tickets for the entire season go on sale on Tuesday, September 8. The season opens at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre on October 9 with William Inge's Pulitzer Prize- winning Picnic, in which a group of women confront their loneliness when a handsome stranger drifts into their small Kansas town.

?More than 400 guests dressed in their finest gathered on Saturday, May 16, to participate in one of Pacific Symphony's most heartwarming galas to date, “Celebrating Carl St.Clair's 25 Years in Orange County.” Honoring the beloved music director's 25 years with the orchestra, the 2015 gala took place at the Hotel Irvine, where the sights, tastes and aromas of Orange County were center stage. Thanks to the vision of co-chairs Lynn Freeman and Ellie Gordon, the focus was also on fun and celebration, as guests arrived to revel in an OC classic: a beach party! Donning sunglasses and flip–flops, attendees engaged in friendly competition, playing games such as ultimate Frisbee and “Hang 10,” while sipping cocktails and enjoying a surf band rocking Beach Boys tunes. The evening transitioned into a memorable tribute to Maestro St.Clair as guests feasted in an enchanting orange grove. After an exciting live auction and generous “Fund-A-Dream,” Symphony musicians surprised the audience with a “flash mob” performance of Beethoven's Ninth with a rock overlay, which led straight into the party tunes of JT & Friends. 

John Evans' solo exhibition is now in its first week. For this we highlight two paintings, Smelling the Moon In Your Perfume and No Frogs In Sight. We see the artistic process at work as Evans explores a single composition in successive canvases. As a prime example, the imagery for the canvas No Frogs in Sight is derived from a section seen at the top of Smelling the Moon in Your Perfume. By zooming in on an area Evans reinvents the composition and creates a show full of unexpected surprises.

In anticipation of John Evans' upcoming solo show, opening March 5, several of his new paintings are currently on view at the gallery.

The Holiday Group Show is a great time for us to showcase the different artists at the gallery. Today we highlight three painters on our front wall. Sharon Sprung's new painting Fringe just arrived at the gallery this week. David Graeme Baker's Leap Day, along with two other new paintings by Baker, marks the first time in two years that new Bakers have been available in the gallery. Robert Jackson's Props was a favorite from his recent solo show at the gallery.

John Evans' opening at the gallery last week had a spectacular turnout. If you missed the opening and haven't seen the show, there's still time. The exhibition runs through November 2nd. Fans of water-themed work are in luck: Chris Armstrong and Eric Zener both have new paintings in the gallery. Armstrong pins the violence of the sea against a placid blue sky in White Lightening, while Zener's seemingly gravity defying figure inArchway points to the meditative calm that can be found beneath the surface of the water.
