Live At Zedel, Soho's unique live entertainment concept at Crazy Coqs, announces their new 2019 winter/spring season produced in partnership with Fane Productions.
What a bizarre year 2018 has been. In the months that saw too much Trump, devastating Californian wildfires, an escalation in the refugee crisis, not to mention the dreaded 'B' word, it makes me more grateful than ever for the pure escapism that live theatre so often provides.

There are live performers who bring a charisma and immediate sense of warmth and charm to the stage, along with an astounding talent. Joe Stilgoe is one such performer; sliding onto the tiny stage of Ronnie Scott's, he looked like he had lived most of his life holding court in front of an audience.

The Jungle Book continues its tour around the UK, playing in Bromley this weekend. In the second part of our interview series, playwright Jessica Swale spoke to us about writing for different spaces on stage, and the inspiration behind the world and characters of this adaptation off stage.
Daniel Evans and Rachel Tackley said: 'We're enormously grateful for the warm welcome extended to us by our local community and those visiting from further afield during our first season, which welcomed Chichester's largest-ever Festival audience.
For many people, their first introduction to The Jungle Book is the Disney film of the same name. This new adaptation from Olivier award winner Jessica Swale deserves the effort of disassociation, as it rewards in numerous ways. Swale has adapted Rudyard Kipling's beloved story of the boy Mowgli being raised by wolves in the jungle into a modern, relevant and hugely entertaining show.
My first ever Christmas theatre experience was in the Royal Theatre in Northampton - back when they had a celebrity panto in the Derngate and a traditional panto in the Royal.
