Review: 1776 at Kennedy Center

1776 is now being given a triumphantly moving and vigorous radically deconstructed interpretation at the Kennedy Center. There are many fans already who are firm believers in the message of this uniquely conceived musical but this production will lead them even further into intellectual and sensory depth.

Review: All Hail The Queens of SIX at San Diego Civic Theatre

Musical theatre royalty is in town as the women of SIX, bring attitude, dance moves, and vocals to blow the roof off of the San Diego Civic Theatre through July 9th. This musical is sure to have you cheering in your seats as the six wives of England’s Henry VIII teach you more about their lives than you probably learned in school and have you dancing in your seat.

Review: Powerhouse Vocals Energize SIX - THE MUSICAL at Segerstrom Center

A musical theater show disguised as a kick-ass pop-rock concert with some powerful vocals delivering catchy songs, SIX - THE MUSICAL is a surprisingly absorbing, historical musical comedy that manages to convey several fully-formed character-driven narratives that have depth, gravitas, and spunk. Easily one of the season's must-see national tours.

Review Roundup: Critics Weigh In On the World Premiere Of John J. Caswell, Jr.'s WET BRAIN

Playwrights Horizons and MCC Theater present the world premiere of John J. Caswell, Jr.'s Wet Brain, directed by Dustin Wills. A terrifyingly inventive look at addiction's ability to transform one's existence and relationships, Wet Brain offers an American family drama that is not only freed from realism, but also, perhaps unmoored from Earth itself.
