Broadway Across Canada in Calgary announces WAITRESS will play the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium for a limited 1-week engagement! The diner opens up November 19 to 24, 2019!

Playhouse Square is pleased to announce that single tickets for the 2019-2020 Broadway in Akron Season will go on sale August 20th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., including a limited engagement of Riverdance a?" The producers of Waitress have announced that a new EP, titled a?oeWhat's Not Inside: The Lost Songs from Waitress,a?? will be released. The album features outtakes and demos recorded by Sara Bareilles for the hit Broadway musical. Available for pre-order today, the 7 track EP (extended play) is set for release on download and streaming services this Friday, August 16th.

Waitress has today announced Andrew Boyer will join the smash hit West End musical in the role of Old Joe from 12 August. Boyer's previous credits include UK tours for Of Mice and Men and Shawshank Redemption, TV series Law & Orderand he has recently completed filming for HBO's upcoming series Avenue 5. He will take over the role from Shaun Prendergast, as previously seen as DC Holt in EastEnders and who will mark his final performance on 10 August.

Just two weeks ago, a new leading lady took over at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Following in the footsteps of Shoshana Bean, who took her final bow as Waitress' pie-making mom-to-be on July 21, is Alison Luff.

Waitress has announced its next Cast Album Karaoke Night will take place on 14 August in partnership with Time Outoffering audience members the chance to sing songs from the smash hit comedy musical

Take a trip to the diner Nov. 7-9 as the Broadway hit musical, Waitress plays the Morrison Center For the Performing Arts.

Richard Kline (a?oeThree's Companya??) will join the Broadway cast as Joe tonight, July 24th through Sunday, August 18th. Kline replaces Larry Marshall, who will join the National Tour of Waitress and return to the Broadway cast on Tuesday, August 20th.

On Tuesday, BroadwayWorld learned that WAITRESS will end its Broadway run at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020. Featuring a book by Jessie Nelson and a score by Sara Bareilles WAITRESS began performances on Broadway on March 25, 2016, and was nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Musical. 

On an episode of America's Got Talent this week, a 12 year old singer, Luke Islam, took on 'She Used To Be Mine' from Waitress. The song brought judge Julianne Hough to tears, and she gave him the coveted 'Golden Buzzer.'

The producers of the hit musical Waitress announced today that Mark Evans (The Play That Goes Wrong) with join the Broadway cast as Dr. Pomatter on July 23rd. Erich Bergen will play his final performance on July 21st.

The next Waitress London Cast Album Karaoke Night has been confirmed for Wednesday July 17th. Audience members who want to take part just need to sign up before that evening's show for the chance to sing one minute of any song from Waitress - live on stage at the Adelphi and accompanied by the show's musical director Katharine Woolley. Hosts and further details about the event will be announced in due course.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.

Waitress, the hit Broadway musical, is now the longest-running show ever to play at the prestigious Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Broadway, passing the historic engagement of Same Time, Next Year which ran from March 1975 to May 1978.
