The Obie Award-winning Target Margin Theater has announced details for its 2022-2023 season which is anchored by the world premiere staging of Shakespeare’s Pericles, a play about healing, redemption, and reconciliation.

When theaters shut down during COVID, the effects of social isolation have been acutely felt by senior citizens and those who are housebound. In response, 24/6: A Jewish Theater Company has commissioned a diverse group of 16 playwrights to write 10 minute plays to be performed over the telephone one-on-one by individual volunteers to individual senior citizens and others who are housebound and don't have easy access to the internet.

The bilingual streaming production of 'The Dybbuk' by S. An-ski (Shloyme Zaynvl Rapoport), which was performed at Theater for the New City by New Yiddish Rep on the play's 100th anniversary (December 9 to 13), has been edited for video-on-demand and will be presented through midnight January 31 by New Yiddish Rep at https://www.newyiddishrep.org/. 

The Obie Award-winning Target Margin Theater (Founding Artistic Director David Herskovits, Associate Artistic Director Moe Yousuf, Community Producer Victoria Linchong) returns to in-person events with Magic in Plain Sight, a series of free, socially distanced, storefront performances reflecting on loss and wonder that take place in various locations in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

THE TALMUD will play a three-week limited engagement at THE DOXSEE @ Target Margin Theater (232 52nd Street, Sunset Park, Brooklyn). Performances begin Thursday, September 12 and continue through Saturday, September 28. The production brings to life interwoven stories about the sexes - their conflicts, their love, their tricks -from various translations / transmissions of The One Thousand and One Nights, a collection of Silk Road, MENA (Middle Eastern / North African), and South Asian tales.

New Yiddish Rep will present a historic repertory engagement of two plays by Israel's leading playwright, Hanoch Levin. THE LABOR OF LIFE will be presented in both Yiddish (featuring Ronit Asheri, Israeli film star Gera Sandler and Eli Rosen) and English (with Amy Coleman, Eli Rosen and Yossi Sokolsky).

Following a five year search for a permanent home, Target Margin Theater (Founding Artistic Director David Herskovits, Associate Artistic Director Moe Yousuf, General Manager Lu Liu) is proud to present the world premiere of Pay No Attention To The Girl (March 29-April 21), which marks the Company's debut off-Broadway performances in their new 3,250 sq. ft. home in Brooklyn. Directed by Founding Artistic Director David Herskovits, Pay No Attention To The Girl is an interlocking set of tales about the deceptions of the sexes that lead us deep into the labyrinth of The Thousand and One Nights, a collection of Silk Road, MENA (Middle Eastern / North African), and South Asian stories.

24/6: A Jewish Theater Company, New York's first ensemble dedicated to Sabbath-observant artists, will present Ken Kaissar's brand new play Looking Through Glass, an original commission by 24/6, developed in collaboration with the playwright. This production celebrates 24/6's 7th Anniversary.

As the centerpiece of the Company's 25th anniversary season, Target Margin Theater and Abrons Arts Center will present a rare revival of Eugene O'Neill's great trilogy, Mourning Becomes Electra, directed by Herskovits, and running April 26-May 20. Part Greek tragedy, part family play, part history play, Mourning Becomes Electra (O'Neill's 1931 adaptation of Aeschylus 'The Oresteia') mashes myth, Freudian psychology and melodrama into an epic six hour production.
